My 70 pound lab fits fine in an intermediate size crate; which allowed me to build a lower upper storage shelf with more space. I will describe the shelf in another post.
No elk this year. Saw a herd of 10-15 with a bull near my backcountry camp, but never could get on them. Here’s my last archery success, in 2022. Notice that my yellow lab Jade was with me, including when I called in and shot the bull at 20 yds; and then she packed out some meat. Dogs do it all.
Yes, I agree the OEM tires are way too soft and thin. I replaced mine with load range E KO3’s from Goodrich. Just returned from an elk hunt in the Colorado mountains pulling a llama trailer. The GX, the tires, and the llama all performed great in rocks and mud; now if only I could keep up.
Looks like an effective and easily removed sleeping solution. I recommend storing the tire tools somewhere other than under the back floor, so you don’t have to unpack gear and remove the bed if you get a flat tire. Speaking from experience! Now I have KO3’s in load range E.
I use it on all the exposed plastic on my GX by spaying on a rag to keep it off the windows. I like it and have used it on other cars. I wipe off any excess so it does not attract dust.
Thanks for the sound deadening idea. I did that under the plywood floor. The cargo area will be much quieter when I install the upper level and fill the back full of gear.
My GX is doing well, thanks for asking. I slept in the back 2 nights without a problem. I added a folded towel to level the low spot in the middle where the cargo area drops down. My next project will be to build a 4’ x 6’ upper level with a cut out behind the front passenger seat so I can sit...
Thank you for (hopefully) solving my key fob battery discharge problem. I had been storing mine on the left side of the phone charging area, and the batteries have been only lasting about one month.
