Link to the ARB info? Between things I've added and towing I've been thinking I should have something a bit beefier I suspension and seems this can do that as well as give me a small lift.
I need new tires and soon. The factory ones have been pretty good overall but are wearing out quickly (at 25k miles) and already have some cupping in places.
Do people think Tirerack.com does a good job evaluating tires? Summary at top makes some tires seem ok but the full review below that...
And no way to modify this? I heard some (likely older) cars could have manual locking hubs added to each wheel to get them to flat tow (but that also eliminates any braking in the tow vehicle so not good in that respect).
I'm at 22k almost entirely on pavement and I was noticing they are getting worn down quicker than I expected, now I know why. I'll have to replace fairly soon, probably by end of summer. That said I still have tread, I need to measure it to know exactly.
I have an GX 550 OT plus with stock Toyota Open Country tires and I’m wondering how many miles people get on these tires before they’re replaced. I can see that people haven’t had these cars for very long, so maybe nobody has gotten that far and knows an answer.
Opinions on Tire width? 285/70 vs 285/75
I know I'll likely need the Westcott lift before I can even run 285's without rubbing, assuming I do that.
Also do I need offset to run /75? do I need it of I do /70 (both 285/)?
I also see that /70's are lighter which is always good.
I also have to worry how this lift kit (or any suspension change) will change its towing characteristics. Which I still seriously need at this point. Eventually I'd like to get a Class A and put it on a trailer behind it instead of pulling a travel trailer.
