Appreciate the feedback from you all. Will take a very close look and take as long of a test drive as I can when it lands. Biggest downside I have on my mind so far is part-time 4wd. Variable road conditions are common in CO and I may or may not have family members who might forget it is in 4...
Jealous of the BMW B58 in the Grenadier. That engine is a masterpiece in every BMW it resides in, but maybe sounds like it is not all glory in the Ineos?
Anyone here own both or maybe spent some decent seat time in the 6th gen 4rRunner? My GX arrived back in April, but I was also on the list for a 4Runner TRD Pro. I never canceled that reservation. Well, the dealer called and there is a TRD Pro for me, arriving in a couple months. Now, it...
7.5 quarts vs. 7.5. Probably a good addendum to my original post. I added 7.5 quarts and checked the level before adding a touch more. Maybe something just short of 7.7 for me and I allowed a really long drain interval during that change, 20 min or so perhaps (initial pan drain, then filter...
Sounds like a lot of wasted time at the dealership to me. $350 for a cabin filter and potentially a key battery? Insane. Inspection items are fluff.
$70 or less DIY oil change, $20 cabin filter, and Discount Tire will rotate tires for free (even rotating the spare if you ask). Maintenance...
I sourced Lexus branded oil primarily because I happened to be at the dealer and price was same as Advance Auto or O'Reilly. Many Lexus dealers will run Black Friday or other holiday deals on parts, and oil is often part of that promo. I grab a couple cases when I see it on sale.
I think prospective buyers should spend the time to watch this one. Really great assessment by Jack, with Mark as a solid "no" on the GX. I have seen enough Facebook posts and threads here to know that a large number of buyers don't know what they are getting when signing up for the GX.
Just the $14.99 headlight kit. Dealer had already done hood/fenders/mirrors. The film is nothing special, not thick likely some of the better Xpel or 3m product, but was exactly what I wanted for headlights and easy refresh. Also very easy DIY.
Amazon. Search FDAIUN Auto Accessories and then GX550 in their store. Worked really well for me. Fairly cost effective so I will likely change out every couple seasons to keep it clear and pit free.
Putting aside any immediate safety concerns (engine grenades on busy highway), I would wait at least as long as I found comfort that the replacement engine is not just the same likely-to-grenade again engine. Note that Tundra replacement engines have failed yet again according to the internet.
Good timing to bring the thread back! Was just looking today and see that choices are limited (275/70/18). Agree that the GX does not need an E, but I might give it a go. I have run the Blizzak LT for two winters on my 2024 HD diesel truck, running at 55psi or so, and they are noticeably more...
