Even dumber is you can't turn off the headlights without opening the door. Likewise that you can't open or close the window unless the ignition is in the ON position.

Looks good and same size spare is good piece of mind but not quite following. Are you saying that you have a rub at full lock in reverse. That would be a concern for me. Seems like it would be a simple visual check and you'd think the shop would have pointed that out.

Placing that setting on OFF simply means your lights go off when you open the door. The multi-second settings determine how long your lights stay on for once you open the door. I spend a lot of time in ferry lineups and on the ferry and it's a pain to have to open GX's door in order to off...

I would like a setting that lets you turn off the headlights when you turn off the car, not when you turn off the car and open driver door.

Well my stock rig did a great job towing my trailer 9500 km's to Alaska and back. Did a little 4wheelin' along the way when we were unhitched. We went overland except for the ferry from Prince Rupert BC to Port Hardy, BC which we would highly recommend as it goes thru the Inside Passage.
