Good idea. I’ve tested it and the sunroof simply stops when it meets the crossbar. Another press closes it with no damage.

I typically drive in sport+ mode on the road which helps but as mentioned earlier it’s a large, top heavy vehicle.

I did not investigate but the Land Cruiser comes a smaller rack which seen on trucks around town. Should fit the GX as well.

It does but the sunroof operates normally. I currently have a crossbar spaced so that the pop up function is impacted but I only slide the sunroof back so no impact for me. The crossbars are adjustable so you can space them to allow full pop up operation. Factory rack is more of a half rack but...
