I'm using a Goal Zero Yeti 1000X with a Dometic 55l fridge. Just used it on a 3000 mile trip and my only issue was that the AC button needs to be pushed every time you start the engine. According to the 1000x it was getting a charge of about 116w.
Oddly, the Dometic fridge would not work on...
Pretty sure I didn't say I just expect them to change out the parts. The dealer is over an hour away. I should not have to spend hours driving back and forth multiple times to get known issues resolved. As mentioned, there really isn't any way to repro the hood locally, so I guess they won't...
Took the GX in to get the 10K service. Told service guy that the hood fluttered so bad I thought it was going to fly off when I drove I-80 across Montana the weekend before last. Headwinds were very high, and I was going 80mph. Also told him the brakes squeal in the morning in reverse. When...
I just had Exoshield installed yesterday in anticipation of a 3000+ mile trip. An unexpected benefit is that my headup display now works with my polarized lens prescription sunglasses. Not sure why, but I'll take it.
I think the ML system sounds pretty neutral stock, like my studio speakers. I tuned it a bit through the UI which made it sound much better though I think they should add more than 3 ranges, maybe in an advanced screen.
I thought the B&O system in my 2021 Q5 was better with no adjustments, but...
I don't see the hood flutter, but I don't see the center of the hood while driving at speeds it would appear.
Curious about how tall people are. I'm 6'2" with a 34" inseam. When sitting in the GX and just driving around I don't see the middle of the hood at all, unless I try of course.
I did notice this, but seeing this message reminds me that I have not in a while. Maybe I'm used to it? I've got almost 2000 on the clock now. I thought it was a heat shield that's a little too close to something or a little loose, probably the former. I'll see if I can reproduce it in the morning.
I have not crawled underneath yet. Does the drive shaft have zerks? I had a vibration in my Tacoma that came down to just adding grease to the drive shaft zerks. Concerned because I've heard stories that they are removing the zerks on Tacomas (again, haven't looked on the GX yet).
I removed the paracord and put the strip up but with ~2.75" sections with ~.25" between them. The rack pretty much doesn't make any noise until I'm 55-60. I'm going to cut those 2.75" as well as see if there is further improvement.
I tried to angle the cuts back and forth a bit, but it was...
Well yes. The point is to break up the airflow to reduce/eliminate the noise.
I still have the original strip that was up there. I'm going to put it back on (without the cord), then cut some channels in it to see if that has the same effect.
Like many I have removed the strip at the bottom of the leading edge of the rack, but once you hit 55 it is still noisy. I saw a suggestion to try string around the leading edge, so I thought it was worth $7 to give it a try. I put it around the leading edge and first cross bar.
It works! I...
