When did you take delivery on your rack? I bought mine this past summer and the side rails are joined by the 2 tabs design as shown in the OP pics. Not like yours. I think the tab method of joining the side rails is sketchy as hell but I've got 6,000 miles with mine on the roof with no issues...
Yep, that's it. Especially in first 10 seconds of video. If it's "normal" why isn't it happening on all GX550's? The pitch and volume can be annoying as hell.
Just by chance the whine occurred today in my 2025 OT. Have heard it before a couple times but since I drive with the music turned way up it's probably drowned out. Heard it today when my Car Play got messed up and cabin was quiet. On interstate going 66 mph@ 2,000 rpm. pitch and loudness...
Don't go out of your way. I was interested in buying the SQHD brackets but re-using the existing cowls. Did the clips break when you removed the them? Although I see you used the SQHD cowls so careful removal of the OEM ones probably didn't matter.
I'll give you just the highlights... cut bead in half when removing OEM tire, (replaced tire), wrong rotation (I now mark my tires), gouged outside of wheel when removing OEMs (repaired wheel), gouged outside of wheel AGAIN at 10k rotation (replaced wheel).. Work done at two different shops...
Stock size KO3. Have 11,000 miles on a 5 tire rotation. Love the tires, Quieter than previous KO2s on my 4Runner. Now if I can just get Discount Tire to stop screwing up stuff every trip to their shop.
The key to quickly hooking up electrical from your trailer is doing the same thing on a 4Runner for 10 years. The GX550 connection is about 3" closer so a total win for me!
Ditto on the factory mat. Has worked well on two multi-week trips with gear, rain, and mud. I usually go aftermarket on stuff like this but Lexus did a decent job with this one.
Agreed. Nice surprise. This is my 3rd air compressor and none of the others had auto deflate. Love it when inflating or deflating several tires at once. I carry single OEM air hose and multi tire set up. Covers pretty much all needs.
