Oh, nice. Did you build it yourself or did you go with a certain brand? I was also considering some pull outs back there as long as I was able to retain some general trunk storage as well.

That's a fair question. My longer term vision is to eventually get a rooftop tent so this was a building step to that end goal. To answer your question though, no -- not for appearance only, but yes appearance was a factor in selection.

Thanks for confirming! Their customer support said that the notched design was normal and a new design, but advised me to submit a warranty claim if I wanted. Glad you were able to help me confirm too though!

I didn't realize it was only 2.6" but I believe it. The thickest portion is the front where the wind deflector is, but the way the truck stance is slightly angled downwards in the front, it makes it so that even though it's the thickest portion, it's not the highest. I went from having the roof...

Hey, thanks for the comment. I left out one of the cross bars and added it to the rear of the RR to allow for a less obstructed view. I'm guessing you can go even further and leave out both cross bars for a fully unobstructed view, but here's what I see with just that one bar towards the front...
