We're on a road trip in my wife's 2025, up from socal to Sonoma/Napa. Looks like it'll have about 2200 - 2300 miles on it before I can do the second change.
Nearly all car makers specify a capacity that is typically 1/2 quart above the FULL line intentionally. Or you can look at it from the other perspective and say the FULL line is typically placed 1/2 quart below where the specified capacity shows on the dipstick. They do this so oil consumption...
Seems like all vehicles are well above the line when filled with the specified capacity. The response to this on a couple jeep forums I belong to, is that the residual oil in the engine accounts for this.
I googled the oil and found that the local dealerships all discount it online (much better than walk-in), so you can purchase online, then pickup. I found Toyota 0w20 for about $33/6 pak a few miles away.
This is probably all over this forum. But just to be sure, I'll post it here. With any kind of luck, those of us that have later production engines are not afflicted with this problem.
Sample of 3. I had 3 GM pickups with LS/LT engines. I did not change the oil in any of them until the oil change light came on. I used Mobil 1 from the first change. One is at about 300k miles and running fine (2000 iron block 6.0 no AFM), the next one is 325k miles and it has failed the AFM...
Everything is light years ahead. Turbos spin faster, engines are producing a lot of hp/c.i. these days and people hardly think anything of it. For a 350 cu. in. V8 to put out the same hp for its size as this GX engine, it would have to put out almost 600 hp. How often would you change the oil...
Sharing the entire manual online would expose you and the site owners to copywrite and proprietary data infringement big time. It's that little thing you acknowledge before you can use these types of data. A few pages here and there is much less likely to get the attention of them. But, when...
I would approach this from the other direction. Buy the more complex system options you want. Buy the OT, then put in a 3rd row seat. That has to be easier than all the module and wiring BS. In the end, probably cheaper too not to mention the hundreds of hours dedicated to this kind of...
