"Some 2024 – 2025 model year GX 550 and 2022 – 2025 model year LX 600 vehicles may exhibit a condition where the front brakes produce a squealing noise when driving forward or in reverse."

The issue is that the brakes squeal. In reading others complaints through the forums, most people experience this at low speed in reverse. For my 2024 GX 550 OT+, I started hearing it in the first couple months at low speed in reverse. It never went away when braking in reverse after it began. It also occurred for me in forward when I was driving in hilling conditions that seemed to make the brakes hot.

The good news on this issue, is that it has been acknowledged by dealers long enough that they shouldn't stone wall you if you tell them you have the issue. The bad news is that the problem is prevalent and parts are back ordered so getting this fixed may take some waiting time. Parts took 2 months for me and mine was just fixed so I don't have an impression yet. I think I need to give it a couple months before I call it a success given that's how long it took before I heard the issue initially.

Please complete the poll on this issue.

I have the same problem with Premium plus
Slow reverse driving creates squeal noise.
Reading this post, looks like it is an issue?
What is Dealer will refuse to do anything with it?

They won’t refuse. Lexus corporate covers the cost so it’s not a dealer issue. If it squeals, the dealer will order the parts and fix it.

After ordering my GX550 2/24 then getting it in 7/24 it was not long before I started hearing the nuisance front brake squeal. Every morning when backing out of the drive way the front brakes squealed. After a couple of brake cycles the rotors and pads heated up and no more sequel. However, once they cooled the dreaded squeal was back. My dealer called it normal, I just looked at the service writer when he said that with disbelief, the car had 80o miles on it. I got with the Beck Arnley brake people and ordered a set of brake pads. The rotors I found thru Auto Zone, believe it or not and the quality and rotor weight appeared satisfactory. It was a quick job to R&R the rotors and drop in the Beck Arnley pads. No further brake squeal since and even less of a bake dust issue. Total cost of parts was 240.00. It now appears that Lexus will take care of the problem but parts availability is no sooner that 12/25. It is disappointing to say the least that so many new cars suffer a litany of defects from nuisance problems to major defects.

I spoke with my Lexus Dealer and they mentioned that it is known issue and need to bring car to check out

Quick PSA for those of you thinking you might be able to fix this on your own. The issue is not the pads. It is the rotors. The replacements are reinforced between the ribs to prevent harmonic fluctuation. Sounds like they might even be replacing the calipers on ours.

I was just told by our local tech that this issue is present on all of the Toyota LC250s and Lexus GX models.

Thanks for posting that TSB info. My brakes have a SUPER LOUD squeal in reverse 95% of the time, and about 5% going forward. I've read about this problem on this forum since forever, and many folks have reported getting new parts or repairs. I contacted my local Lexus dealer to make an appointment for the 5K service and complained about my brakes. The service advisor said he never heard about that issue. I mentioned the TSB I thought had been issued, and he couldn't find it.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A PARTS LIST TO CORRECT THIS BRAKE SQUEAL ISSUE?

It is well known issue, i was put on the line to replace it without any questions.

Maybe well know in Houston, but not in Santa Barbara. The dealership said they never heard of this problem. I already sent an email with the LSB attachment @Jabber provided above to the dealership general manager. When I go in for my 5K service in 2 weeks I'm going to take a printed copy of it as well. Then they can't say they never heard of it, unless they're lying.

CA has some of the WORST dealerships in the country! My experience with Lexus of Santa Monica was terrible. So far, Lexus of Santa Barbara is okay (maybe they haven't heard of the GX/LX brake squeal?) but we'll see. I'm hoping for the best.

I had the squeal, brought it in the for the fix, the squeal came back, brought it back in again, and now it’s gone. The funny thing is the dealer said they didn’t do anything to fix the issue the second time around. Not a big deal to me as the squeal is gone.

Having mine replaced. If it comes back, I'm going to just replace the pads with some CarbonMetalic pads. That'll shut it up. I never did like Ceramic. No dust but, worthless when they get really hot. Found out the hard way on my Tundra.

Finally, just today, got a confirmation that a more local dealer will accept the diagnosis of another dealer from several months ago. I visited Stevinson Lexus of Lakewood, they looked up my VIN and then ordered the parts for me today without question. Finally, TG.

The original diagnosis and confirmation was made at Sheehy Lexus of Richmond, VA. However, the dealership down in Albuquerque refused to accept the Sheehy diagnosis. They kept insisting that I bring the car to them (an overnight trip..) before ordering so they could do their own diagnosis. B.S.

The service folks at Stevinson have their act together. 😊

Took our P+ in on 25 July, had the squeal TSB done, and no noise now. Our GX is a October 2024 build and we took delivery on 30 Nov. This was through Lexus of Seattle (in Lynwood) and they have been great to deal with. Only took about an hour and a half from arrival to departure.

Just took in my '24 in at 14k miles to have this fixed and luckily they had parts on hand to do the swap for me. It came around 3k miles but went away and then recently came back.

I picked up my '24 GX, with 5,000 miles, yesterday from my local Lexus dealer for service on three issues, including the Squealing brakes. The dealer replaced the following parts under warranty:
43512-0C040 Disc, front (2)
04465-34040 Disc brake pad kit (1)
04945-0C060 Shim kit, anti-squeal (1)
049470-60140 Disc brake fitting kit (1)
That embarrassing issue is gone, baby gone! At least, for now it is...

Very helpful thread. Tried calling my local dealer (Fredrick CO) 4 days ago and unable to reach service associate after calling each day and leaving multiple messages (is there an employee shortage there?). Now beginning this same process with the Lexus in Lakewood CO (earllier post had great service from Lexus Lakewood). Good know know from this group that the squeal is a known Lexus issue and a resolution is available. It is not only embarrassing backing up an expensive new car to hear this, but really sad that Lexus didn't resolve this themselves. Bought my '25 in July and has 2k miles. This started happening at 1500 miles and occurs EVERY time I back up after an overnight rest - temp/humidity doesn't matter.
