This is a totally simple question for many of you.
If I put on new shocks front and back, will the AVS suspension portion still work when I rotate the Drive mode selector on my Overtrail?
Thanks. 😊

AVS is disabled with a new suspension. The AVS wire is disconnected.

Looks like it’s either in the front or on all 4 😂
Just one big one in the middle.

Seriously, parts catalog shows 5-setting rear dampers for AVS models and mine has wiring going to a control head on the bottom of the damper to control it. So, I'm going with all 4.

You're saying all of the terrain select features only effect the front?
When the King shocks were installed only the front had the AVS cable to disconnect and tucked away. The rear had nothing. Not entirely sure if the front cable controls both front and rear.

I still have the original front and rear shocks including coils and they don't appear connected in any way.

That doesn’t make sense. I trust the owner manual says what you say it does, but hows the AVS in the rear actuated without wires?

The rear shocks do have wires and a motor controlled valve. That unit is at the bottom of the shock instead of the top of the shock like in the front.

I'm not crawling under the car this morning, but I found a video of the suspension. Go to 11:55 and the rear shock is explained and you can clearly see the drive motor and wire.

That was a good watch, thanks!

Do you like King shocks or the OEM better? Do you miss all the modes?
