do any 2026 owners have the issues from the previous years such as hood flutter, brake squeal, back up camera issue, harsh down shift from 2nd to 1st gear, windshield cracking, etc…? I put a deposit for a L+ a week ago. Please give me some comfort bc I’m questioning my decision 😅

I had the same reservations when I put my deposit down two months ago. I joined this forum and watched YouTube videos to learn. There is a great group of people on this site with a whole lot of knowledge and much to be learned here. I finally picked my OT up last Saturday and was specifically looking for these things on my test drive before I signed the paperwork. I took a 15-20 mile drive in various conditions. First thing was to back in reverse while still at the dealership and no break squeal. Camera good as well. I made sure to stop at several lights at different speeds and the down shifting was very smooth, actually not even noticeable. My hood does flutter but it’s very minimal. It doesn’t really bother me at this point.

The only thing I noticed on the test drive is that there sounds/feel like something is loose in the front of the vehicle. It’s only noticeable over larger bumps in the road and it’s intermittent. The service person said it’s common on the OT’s because of the EKSD system and sway bar. I plan on posting here about it to get feedback from others who have much more experience on here than I do mechanically and behind the wheel of the 550’s

In conclusion I absolutely love my GX and it’s so fun to drive. No regrets in my purchase. Sometimes I like to just look at it parked in the garage. It gets a lot of looks as there isn’t a lot of GX’s on the road where I live. Wait till you try out the massage seats. There is so much to learn with all the new technology. Have fun and enjoy, the little things can be adjusted at your dealership.

I’ve had my 2026 OT for about a month and haven’t experienced any of the common issues thus far.

I did look for them during my test drive and could not notice any. Purchased at 200 miles and just hit 1k, still looking good so far.

You won’t regret it, as mentioned above I don’t see many GXs on the road which is nice. You will get a lot of looks, but in a good way.

~1100 miles 2026 Lux+

Slight brake squeak, usually goes away after first 1 to 3 stops and some rough shifting from 2 to 1 but not always... meh whatever if things get worse I'll have it taken care of.

1700 miles, flat tire unfixable (was going to replace with E rated AT3 275/70/18 anyway…..and I did:). I’ll never buy a passenger tire for a vehicle like this, I don’t care about sportiness or 1 mpg, I care about minimizing chance of damage.

My rear passenger door doesn’t want to open from the outside but it will from the inside. Grrrrr. Taking it in next Friday and will change oil as well.

I am getting rough tranny shifts on starting off and pulling up to stops but the heavier tires seemed to smooth it out a bit. Dunno if that’s true or not just my impression, but it’s not too unlike how my rav4 shifted so I’m thinking it’s normal and will keep an eye on it or tsbs.

I can see a very slight flutter on the hood but doesn’t really bother me it’s pretty minor and I’ve already forgotten it’s there. Some folks are more picky than others so take that with a grain of salt.

No backup camera issues.

No brake squeal

No cracked windshield…. Yet.

At the end of the day no car is perfect so, i expected a couple warranty repairs.. Heck my brothers Tesla came out looking like it was put together by a blind person. The tranny hard shifts and that engine recall are 2 things I’m keeping an eye on though.

What trim is your GX?

I have a 2025 P+ with just over 5K miles. No hard shifts yet. Minor hood flutter at high speeds, which doesn't bother me. Squeaky brakes that the dealer is replacing at my 10K service.

No complaints from me yet, knock on wood.

2026 OT (PANAMA SPEC). I´ve had mine since march the 10th.
Right now at around 470 miles in, doing a very good studied break in, pushing it to the peak torque and driving it the best way possible.
In terms of issues.
Hood flutter is there if you look for it, but based on my driving position (quite low) i do not see the hood, so no problem there.
There is a sound on the front axle when falling in potholes, kinda guessing is the same as the LC150 kdss i have, sometimes kdss/ ekdss might cause sound.
Wind noise is only there over 100kph ( 62 mph), but once music is in, super silent inside.
Cameras seem to be working fine.
360 degree camera is fine
noticing the infoentretaiment system prefers to work with apple ( iphone) against android devices.
no break squeal.
In terms of transmission.
What i have noticed is the clunk in the transmission tunnel and hearing it outside when i change from park , to reverse, to neutral to drive.
then back again to park i can hear how it changes and also i can feel the cabin.

I tested the 4 Lo system enagement.
While faster than before, it is very noise. you can feel it engage to.
Also in 4lo. changing from neutral to park , to reverse to neutal to drive , it feels horrible.
Dont know if anyone else has tried it in 4 lo.

Also ride quality.
In terms of vibrations, this car is jittery, previous J150 platform is not jittery but bouncy.
This guys likes to vibrate.
Comfort while getting wobly doesnt diminish vibrations.
What i noticed is that normal suspension is the less vibrations but more harsh over all.
SportS+ has the least amount of vibrations but to hard damped.

I noticed that the rear suspension is to hardly damped.
In speed breakers feels like the suspension doesnt want to compress to reduce the rear impact, feeling like it just bounces on the bump stops.
I don´t know if any other owner feels that the rear suspension is harsh.
At low speed the rear suspension is extremely soft, super super soft. but at higher speeds it changes.

Thats the first impressions for now in my 2026. baby ... built in January 2026-

The windshield isnt an issue, its nature of the design, ask any G Wagon, Bronco, Jeep Wrangler owner (all vehicles with almost vertical windshields). Now there isnt a backlog on them for replacement but be prepared to replace or repair, ended up getting windshield skin on our 2025 after a needed replacement in 3k short miles, since then its taken some good impacts with the glass still intact thanks to the ppf, its showing wear but I consider it a wear item instead of having to replace another windshield.

Same here! Sometimes I just look at it in the garage and am still am in awe that I own this vehicle lol. It is a pleasure to own.

2025 OT+ bought back in November, currently at about 3,000 miles. Been dealing with this since day one and honestly couldn’t hold off any longer.

The driver seat has a poking feeling on the left side of the bottom cushion near my hip. Feels like one of the massage/lumbar air bladders isn’t fully deflating and it keeps coming back — pretty annoying!

I’ve got a service appointment this Tuesday to get both checked out. Curious if anyone else has experienced the same.
