Yesterday, I did a remote start using the key fob. Car was running when I got in and had to put my foot on the brake and press the Start Stop Engine. When I did this the car stopped running. I then waited a few seconds and tried to start again by pressing the brake and hitting the button and would not even attempt to start.

All of the electronics were running fine including AC and radio
I could not press in the brake

I tried a variety of options including the app start, key and normal and none worked.

I called roadside and they asked me if I could get the car into Neutral which it would. Then I tried to turn off the Parking Brake and it would not let me because it did not sense me pressing down on the brake as the pedal would not move. So they start to send out AAA.

I waited about 10 mins and tried another remote start by key fob and it started right up. When I got in the car the brake pressed in just fine and I was able to drive away.

Anyone else ever run into anything weird with remote key fob or App start and then getting the car to drive? I am chalking it up to a computer reboot needed but am taking it in next week anyway for the 6 month appt

I wonder if any trouble codes will be read by the dealer tech. I assume you don't have an OBD reader which would have been handy.

Did you happen to figure what was wrong. Seems I may have just experienced something similar?

Had something similar happen. Lexus said it’s a built in safety feature to avoid theft. I let mine sit for an hour or two and started right back up no issues
