A software update to allow you to lock the car with the doors open would be great! My family takes forever to get out of the dang car. I carry the key card instead of the fob so I can’t lock the car walking away. I guess I could use a shortcut on my phone but that’s not part of my habit. I exit the car and hit the handle with my elbow locking the car when I’m by myself. I would love to be able to do that with the 3 other doors open.

An auto lock feature when you walk away (like all my GM products) would be nice.

My wife's Porsche also does not auto lock - I have left both vehicles unlocked many times since
I am so used to this feature.

Think Dealer can set this if Im not mistaken

I'd like to be able to lock the doors and leave it running when I have groceries or dogs in the car. The 10 minutes from auto start isn't long enough.
You can do this already with the physical key on the key fob. While the engine is running, use this key, turn it counter clockwise, this will lock all doors. You will need to unlock by turning it clockwise (can’t use key fob to unlock), or do it twice to unlock all doors.

My personal complaints:
1. Vehicle doesn't remember the drive mode you set so I have to manually switch to Sport+ every time I get in.
2. Wireless charging pad is too small and oddly shaped. It is just a glorified phone heater.
3. Factory rock rails are about 5" too short in the front. This made the decision to go aftermarket easy for me.
4. Rear diff does not have a remote breather. I bought the parts to relocate the breather higher up.
5. Very little interior storage. The glovebox fits little more than the manual and documentation. The cool box takes up a lot of storage room.
6. Hitch diaper is a poorly designed abomination, both in terms of function and aesthetics. It looks fugly, requires tools to remove, has clips that can easily be misplaced. The 7 pin should be up higher and integrated with the bumper or hitch diaper.

Issues that I am not having but watching closely for a resolution:
1. Overtrail vibration issue
2. Rough downshift transmission issue
3. Mark Levinson issue

Here are the training pants I bought to replace my GX's diaper. Not perfect - but better....

If I am being honest, I am not a fan of the hitch diaper or the hitch training pants. I much prefer to go au naturel in order to give my hitch some room to breathe and for ease of access. Wait, are we still talking about the GX?

  • I hate my Lexus app constantly telling me my doors are unlocked or windows are open when it's in my garage at "Home", I've even added my GPS location as Home hoping it would stop. I've left feedback on the App, but no surprise, no update
  • I keep getting white smudges appearing on the interior, it's not sunscreen but I believe the plastic is reacting to sweat, cleans off with Griott's Interior cleaner, but it's frustrating
  • Lack of storage, TERRIBLE.
  • Nowhere to place the RAM mounts on the dash for GSMRS, Ipads, phones, etc... why didn't they add this as an option like the Bronco's and likely Jeeps have? There are no seems or anything on this dash to add components AND the soft textured surface won't work with suction cups.

This would be an amazing fix. I’m really surprised it’s not already a feature as this is common on a lot of vehicles.

Interior fit / build quality - my GX rattles like a can full of nickels (multiple issues). 5,000 miles and in the shop for the second time. I love everything else about the vehicle, but the heartburn is getting worse and I'm seriously considering trading it.

I really hate the headlight settings on these. Lexus should have OFF-DRL-AUTO-ON only. How dumb is the ‘Daytime Running Lights’ OFF option? It just turns them off in the AUTO setting 😣

Lack of auto stop start in a truck that already struggles in the mpg department

Would have loved and pay a premium for 4Runner style tailgate roll down window

Faster gearbox shifts in manual mode. The 1 second lag makes the paddle shifters pointless

2nd tailgate roll down window. Baffling decision there

After a little over 3,000 miles I have to say that a lot of things people initial were complaining about and worried me before delivery are not an issue at all. Hood flutter, rough ride in the Lux+, MPG, body lean.... The only thing that is an issue is the ML sound system but it is livable and my wife doesn't complain about a single thing and she is the main driver. I'll call the other things like driver intervention warnings nuances to this vehicle. Not going to sweat the small stuff and remain humble that we are blessed enough to afford this great vehicle.

An additional "beef" I have is with the interior temp control dials. There should be a detent for each degree of change so that I don't have to keep taking my eyes off the road to tell when I have dialed in 68 degrees from 71. Otherwise with a detent tactile feel, I could keep that damn camera watching my face from beeping. I think we have one group of engineers (the steering wheel camera guys) not talking with the climate control guys.
