Hi, coming from the BMW world where with a button press you can disable the interior movement sensors on the alarm once activated. Can this be done on the GX? I would assume anyone with a dog has wondered this, last thing you want is the alarm triggering because Fido moved around in the back.

thanks - did a search and didn't find anything.

Huh? I have a spastic heeler in my back seat about 80% of the time, bouncing all over the place, and I've never had any sensor or alarm notification. Maybe she's just not heavy enough to trigger the alarm? She's more than chunky enough for the rear seatbelt warning light.

if the interior alarms don't go off with a dog moving around in there, then I'm good. Every car alarm I've had prior would be triggered by that.

Hi,
Am I right in assuming that the interior sensors are detecting movement in the car when the dog is inside and the door is locked?
Its a safety feature, and you can switch it off in the quick menu under "security sensor". However I have not found a way to permanently disable it, and as it defaults back on each start up.
Anyone found a solution?

Maybe I am blind but on our 2025 gx 550 overtrail, we don't have any menu items for "security sensor". We have an alarm, I set it off a few times by accident, and if the windows are down, car alarm on and I throw something inside, the alarm goes off. I am wondering because when camping we sleep in back and the only way I know of, again I might be dense, is to manually lock from inside the car, i.e. not locking with the fob. This really blows as the locks are three feet away and reaching them is difficult.

If this is a thing then it doesn't work very well. My dog toting habits mirror those of @jclaffee but mine is a 2 yo Weimaraner that weighs 70ish lbs. She's definitely big enough that she triggers the back seat seatbelt light and the beeping to check the backseat on exit and she's not one to sit very still but I've never had her trigger the alarm when I leave her in the truck.

I'm not sure if I've read anything about this in the manual, but have you tried pressing the lock button on the keyfob twice?

Some other manufacturers allow you to disable the tilt sensors by doing that, but not sure about this vehicle.
