I was wondering as I am designing skid plate extensions to protect my cats from unauthorized removal (theft). If I feel the design is successful, then I may make some up for sale to other owners. I can always use some beer money to support my post-hockey game fluid replenishment habit.

Check out nytop.com - they make a skid plate to cover the catalyic converters

I've seen theirs - verry nice. I have a fab and machine shop. I can make up something for a whole lot less and could pass along the savings to fellow drivers.

very slick - take a look at their other skid plates and see if there are others you can do

I finished building a set of skid plate extensions which should substantially decrease the chance that a thief could remove the two cats. I asked for pricing from my water jet guy what the budget cost would be for him to make the individual pieces I would need to weld together. The costs were too high so I will not be making more of these. With all the time and effort I put in, I should have bought the larger skid plate already being sold. NBD - I like to tig weld aluminum anyway.
