Getting my GX Premium Plus on Friday. Already planning to replace the wheels with Overtrail take-offs, replacing the running boards, adding the Lexus mud flaps. Just looking for advice from you experienced GX'ers, does anyone have a problem with replacing the body colored wheel opening molding, with the black Overtail molding? The Overtrail molding is about $900, and I am told snap on, snap off. My color is Nebula Gray. Yes, I am trying to make the Premium + look like the Overtail (wanted 3rd row), yes, could just be a matter of personal preference...but also trying to avoid doing anything too stupid (I tend to think later). Your opinions are greatly appreciated :)!

I have seen a YouTube video of the building of the GX in Tahara and remember seeing them literally snap on the fender edges so should be simple clips. Me, before I did it I'd order up all new clips but maybe the new parts come with them already installed and ready to go.

I did OEM mud flaps and love them F&F is perfect. Find a good tint/wrap shop and bring them a photo of how the OT is black up top and have them wrap it the same. I have OT wheels and tires I bought from Texas Truck Tire - shipped for $1400. Haven't put them on yet but I have them.

I also bought the paint matched body molding... haven't put them on yet but looking forward to having them on.

Good luck and have fun.

You could also try using a plasticized paint for the wheel molding. I suspect it will chip off, but it's a $10 investment vs a $900 investment.

My first thought is they won't match the rest of the trim on your P+. I looked back at the photo below (I hope the owner doesn't mind me using it for reference) you can see the lower trim and wheel well moldings are matte plastic. The P+ lower body trim is a very glossy black (at least it is on mine).

Nice pic, hard to find. Oh boy, really appreciate your reply. I did not even think about that, and that would bug me. I am going to email the lexus parts dept and see how much those parts are :). Thanks again.

Just a heads up on the moldings. The black molding on the premium plus and the black areas on the front and rear bumper are gloss. This may not match the wheel arch moldings on the OT.

I did a gloss black vinyl wrap on the fender flares to match the gloss black trims and it looks amazing. The entire front end has clear PPF.
Need to find the OT stock wheels as I hate the Premium + stock wheels...

That does look great, thanks for sending! Waiting for the PPF company to get back to me on wrapping that molding. Thanks for the info!
