Hi guys, I just picked up a 2025 Overtrail, I am trying to hardwire the radar detector for my Escort 360c max, any tip and trick that make a clean installation ? I want to hide all the wire . Thank you

get a wire tap from amazon and follow this thread

If there is a stationary camera trap, or lots of traffic has reported a mobile trap, the car may alert you. If the trap is new, a radar detector is the only way you're going to get the warning. They pay for themselves many times over the price.

Did you end up getting a Blend mount for your Escort? Thats what I'm leaning towards but my question is: Does the base mount go over the thick part of the mirror ?

SA WEEEET... and I act this way because on a previous KIA Telluride the space between the mirror stem and the rotating mirror body was so friggin' small i couldn't really reposition the mirror to allow for the camera view mirror tab swap (with normal "classic view") ha

I fuse tapped it to the fuse box below the glovebox and also ran a cable through the center console.

Just FYI, if the cop is working radar/laser like we are taught, he won't have the radar on all the time. You are supposed to see the speeding car, estimate their speed in your head and confirm with the device. So by the time your detector goes off, he already has your speed recorded. Also, when I was a young Trooper, if I stopped someone who had a radar detector, they never got a warning. But if having one makes you feel protected, do it I guess.

"Instant on" measuring seems to almost be a thing of the past. Almost all of the traps I see now in every state are running the unit full time. You can detect the signal a couple of miles ahead and be alert.

Even when they are doing the instant timing, you can pick up the pulses as the cars ahead of you are timed. A couple of quick on and off's gaining strength is enough to let you know there is something ahead.

I used this mount in our GX. I have used Blendmount in the past but figured I would try this one out for less than $30. It works great and looks good too. Amazon.com

@rangertrace Radar detectors are another layer of safety. When LEO's use radar ahead of you, you get an alert. They also have other useful features such as red light cameras, and you can mark areas to remind you to slow down/speed traps. Using a detector in conjunction with Waze greatly reduces the risk from accidently speeding. I commute 160 miles a day, and using Radar and Waze has been very beneficial. I have also been using radar since the 1990's and seen the evolution. We have Uniden R3 and R4's in all 6 of our vehicles. Wil be adding Uniden R4W when we receive our 2026 Luxury +
