Hi everyone,

I’ve been a long-time lurker and finally decided to join the forum. I’m from Connecticut and picked up my Atomic Silver Overtrail GX550 in January 2025 in New Jersey. It’s currently at about 16,000 miles, and I’m still loving every minute of it.

Planning to start mods once winter wraps up. Excited to learn from everyone here and share the build as it comes together.

Honestly, I feel like you can’t go wrong with any color on a GX.
Funny story—the first GX550 I ever saw was while I was on vacation in Colorado, and it was in Atomic Silver. I was convinced I’d be choosing between Nori or Earth, but after seeing both in person, I just couldn’t stop thinking about the Atomic Silver.

I have an Earth GX, but I am convinced that the Atomic Silver might be the best color on an Overtrail. Not sure what it is about it.

Lift: Westcott Level
Wheels: TE37 17x8.5+15
Tires: Toyo AT3 35X12.5+15

Honestly, I’m really impressed with the Westcott level—it’s actually making me hold off longer on going with the Dobinsons IMS kit I’ve been eyeing.

Honestly, I’m really impressed with the Westcott level—it’s actually making me hold off longer on going with the Dobinsons IMS kit I’ve been eyeing.

Seems to be a bit of a mixed bag of opinions on the Westcot kit. I am starting to think that this is falling in line with some fo the expectations people had about the GX in general being a super smooth lux ride compared to a more off-road-based body-on-frame vehicle. I am also a self-admitted pavement dweller and just like the looks, besides gravel roads to my family's lake cottage in the sticks.

I don't really want to do major suspension work on my GX, so I am still considering the kit when it's time to upgrade my tires.
