LC250 FE Roof Rack install (1 Viewer)

I'm installing my LC250 FE roof rack and I noticed that my GX550 is missing some weather strips on the roof. Is it necessary if I silicon sealed the mounting points?
It's quite expensive for weather strips, I think $80 (need 4) so double checking if I really need them

@squarefishead it's up to you if you need them. It doesn't prevent water from getting in those channels. The way the LC rack is, though, you may accumulate a lot of debris in there that will be hard to get out if you don't have the gutter rails.

I went with the arb bad rack base rack an left the gutter rails opened. We’ll see in 6 months how much debris accumulates

Did the rack come with rubber gaskets or do you need to use silicone sealant?

it came with rubber gaskets. i used silicone sealant to prevent water leakage

How is the wind noice on the highway? I’m considering the LC roof rack for my Prem + as well.

I want a LC250 rack but they are a bit pricey. I like OEM stuff when possible. I saw the knockoff on Ebay but worried that it is cheap China crap that will rust and fade within a year. I guess I don't need a rack that bad just yet.
