From the Land downunder. How long did it take from time of order to receive your vehicle? I have been told anywhere between 12-18 months? Is that correct?

All depends on how many people are ahead of you at your dealer and your dealers allocation.
Took me two months to get an OT build at a dealer with other people at the same dealer waiting a year or more for a different trim level/color choice.

Thank you I guess you are in America though you guys get them super quick compared to us in Australia

so how do you get them to bump you up the queue?

Hope not!! Welcome from San Diego
you guys also get the choice of 6 models we only get the luxury, Overtrail and the Luxury sports plus, and we are closer to Japan but your purchase percentage is way higher than ours so I guess they bump us for your models. they seriously take forever to get here even with a good dealer

I was told a year’s wait in early 2024 and I got one in late June because the person that had a deposit on it couldn’t qualify. Sometimes there are surprises. Hope you catch a break

Aww thanks Suberi I do too itching to get into it the forums just make me want it more not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing but always a good thing to look forward to something in the future if it keeps you going

It’s a good thing. The new truck excitement that used to last a couple of weeks is still with me after almost a year and a half. You’re going to love it. You can use the forum to start planning and researching your build Good luck

yes that's why I'm here. I've ordered the luxury sports and I cannot wait to get back to the breach driving on Fraser island in Australia its just heaven

Didn't need bumped. I told them what trim level I wanted and what colors I was willing to take. Was a little flexible and they got me one within 2 months. Other people are dead set on a trim or color that is impossible to get so they wait.

Again, it all depends on the dealers allocation and how lucky they are at getting what they request. There was no time limit given to me, but they could definitely tell me which combos were unicorns to avoid.

hmm maybe I should tell my dealer I am flexible thank you

From the US, but when I was searching, I found that "I will come today and pay full in cash" was a pretty big motivator for dealers to go outside their normal procedures. One dealer agreed to circumvent their "local, in-state only" policy for highly in demand vehicles when I used that line.

A few dealers went out of their way to match me with their incoming allocations once I said that.

hmm I already tried to offer to for their display model and it was a straight out no not even paying up front would get it over the line but I can always try again. Thank you

I also found that working with dealers in the New York City metro area was the big secret. There's such a big population of wealthy buyers that they had an enormous flow of GXs allocated to them. I didn't even have to join a waitlist - I was able to just reserve an incoming allocation immediately (I was looking for GXs this past July 2025).

Maybe try dealers in your nearest major city?

thank you I ordered through the biggest Lexus dealer in my state, which is why i am so perplexed at the length of time. and no special fancy anything just standard as it came. I know I am just being impatient but I see all of you guys having so much fun and I am very jealous.

Good luck!

And use every advantage you have. If you have a friend who's bought 5 Lexuses or a cousin who works as an auto journalist, take advantage of it!
