Hi, I have a 2025 OT with the standard audio system. My treble, mid, and bass settings are all in the default center position.

Today I observed that when I adjust the balance of my speakers all the way to the back, the volume is very low. For example, if I am listening to music at 30, and I adjust the balance from center to rear-biased as shown in the picture, the volume sounds like a 5. They are very faint. Am I missing something or is this a defect? I have never had an audio system behave like this before.

I haven't had more time to troubleshoot with the vehicle since I am traveling at the moment and hoping someone can enlighten me.

I have the same issue. I've spent a decent amount of time trying to get the sound stage a little more vehicle centered, but to no avail. I've turned surround on/off, but that didn't help. If you come up with a solution, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks, @BryanM68 .

Can anyone else either confirm or deny this is an issue? I find it hard to believe Lexus would put all the sound in the front with such diminutive speakers in the back.

With all the Mark Levinson issues I am wondering if maybe us standard audio folks got a bad batch of something as well.

@BryanM68 I am at the dealership right now for my transmission update and asked the service manager about the rear speakers. He said due to the surround sound settings, the rear speakers will only turn on if the source sends a signal to them. To test this, we toggled Surround Sound setting OFF, and then tried to shift the balance to the rear again. The rear speakers came to life, proving his theory. As designed.

So just so I understand, we are to turn surround sound off, correct?
And thank you for the update!!!!

Lol. Sorry @BryanM68 . I feel stupid for admitting this but I think I was suffering from confirmation bias. I did some more experimenting on the way home and it sounds the same regardless of the Surround Sound setting. Maybe it was just the track playing at the time.

LOL, all good, we've all been there. I've actually just learned to accept the poor sound and a 100% front sound stage. Hopefully they will come up with a fix, but not holding my breath. Again, I sure do appreciate you getting back to me in this issue! Have a great weekend.
