Recently installed the NY Top axleback exhaust and it is a great little upgrade. Super simple install.

Changes the tone to a more acceptable note for my taste. Slightly deeper and more refined.

Highly recommended!

Same. I saw that sale and couldn't pass it up! I agree with what you are saying on tone too. Not too much, but just enough to notice.

It's also nice (sort of) to see that the exhaust hangers are stretched a bit to the side (you know what I mean) as mine was too and I was wondering if I f'ed something up. lol

Yes, they are a little off; but the exhaust itself is centered. Quality parts overall.

Got up to get an early start before leaving for work

Ok...here's the initial impressions.
  • Super lightweight and easy to install
  • Definitely a more gutteral tone as others have stated. Not obnoxious but you can tell it has a different growl to it.
  • Completely stock sounding while cruising but comes alive with engine load. (No drone!)
  • I was afraid it was going to sound ricey....but i think it accents the engine and the GX well.
  • The exhaust sound now complements the induction noise from my AFE Intakes
  • I was going to wait to see what AWE comes up with, but I am happy with this dump pipe as it is likely half of what a full exhaust will cost and creates the necessary noises i was looking for. The reduced weight and added clearance was a nice bonus.

Install tips
  • Need a 14mm socket to remove the Stock exhaust and need a 13mm, 15mm (preferably deep socket) and Torx (will have to check out home what size I used) to to install the NYTOP.
  • It helps to jack up the Driver rear a little to be able to maneuver the stock exhaust section when removing it
  • remember to remove the stock gasket from the stock exhaust flange
  • Best to install the NYTOP hanger onto the dump pipe after you've moved the dump pipe into place under the GX.
  • No need to remove the spare

And what everyone always wants to see... Comparison videos (taken from my Iphone)
