Premature Door Seal Wear on My 2025 OT – Anyone Else? Dealer Warranty? (1 Viewer)

Hi! I have a 2025 OT with 9K miles. I just noticed some damage to the door rubber seal and was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing. It looks like it wore down in this spot simply from me getting in and out of the car.

It doesn’t seem very durable. Do you think the dealer would replace it under warranty? I feel like I have a case that the seal is poor quality, especially since I’m also seeing rubber marks on my liftgate.
The liftgate seal deterioration doesn’t bother me as much, but the driver-side door does. Does anyone know the part number? I might replace it myself.

I'm pretty sure a good dealer would take care of that. My Land Cruiser had a trim issue that was covered by warranty, and Lexus is a little more customer service oriented.

Looks like the part of the door is rubbing against the jamb side of the trim as well. Maybe a door out-of-alignment issue.

2024 GX 550 OT+ . I had the same problem with the driver side weather striping.
Dealer replaced it under warranty. Said they are seeing same problem on other GX 550.
The replacement doesn't 'stick out ' as much and suspect it will not be an issue.

I had the exact same thing happen to my 2025 Premium+. Had the oil changed at 5000 miles and the dealer replaced under warranty without any question. I agree the replacement doesn't 'stick out ' as much.

You think its from rubbing against getting out? I can see how that happens, seat slides back for easy exit, puts you in the perfect spot to scrape against the seal.

Yes, the technician showed me that was what was happening when I exited. Still I think the original seal was very thin and stuck out more than the replacement that was installed. I pay more attention now than before. Owned a Audi Q7 for 6 years before this purchase and never had an issue with the door seals. Maybe it's due to the height of the GX550 and the need to slide out more with the exit?

Hey 1mikezat1, in the picture you sent the seat looks like it is crushed on the edge where you exit. Was that just the photo?

No, it's just the leatherette seat cover. The seat is fine - just the door seal is torn. I had my girl check how I get in and out and I do not touch the seal with my butt.
