I have the rear Lexus and GX 550 black emblem overlays. They were a PIO item. Against my gray exterior I think the natural shiny emblems would stand out more.

My question is what would be the best way to remove them? I was thinking heat gun but not sure. Thanks in advance.

Yup, heat gun or blow dryer to soften the glue would be my guess.

What are you going with the overlays after? I have a friend who’s looking for some.

Definitely don't use a heat gun but rather try a hair dryer carefully without holding it to one single point for too long...
I personally love my blacked out badging on my Incognito!

We’ve got blackout emblems on our Caviar and like the look a lot. Having said that, nothing wrong with a little bling from the chrome 👍🏻

One thing to remember is the silver badge underneath is also held on by adhesive. You’ll have to be super careful that you don’t pry that off as well inadvertently. Heating the emblem will probably loosen the adhesive for both.
Exactly! Another thing to note is that while some are overlays, some are actually blacked out letters (such as the ones installed at the plant - mine are black letters and not overlays)!

I debadged my entire rear hatch and all the letters are barely held on with double sided adhesive. Was able to remove them by simply heating with a gun and lifting with my fingers. That being said if they’re a true overlay emblem you will struggle to remove just the overlay. Like mentioned above you might look into ordering the chrome and just replacing.

I had a body shop de-badge mine that had the overlays and they had a difficult time separating the overlays from the original letters. Ended up losing the overlays. Love the de-badged look though.

Not that hard of a process. Get a dryer, fishing line, and some tar remover. I’m sure the adhesive is not super strong since these cars are 2 years old max
