What have folks seen out there as far as seat covers; looking for a set for my OT+. Challenge is that most look like complete junk - not the fit or quality for the ride.

When in the Grenadier phase I found 2 companies in Africa that make the high end safari/overlanding gear/covers, but nothing yet or plans at the moment to make for the GX -

I did the same. Works perfect for what I need it for. Had one that lasted about 5 years that I bounced around in my previous vehicles. It still had life in it, but I decided to order a new one for the GX. Got here yesterday and slipped it on this morning.

I picked up the

• front and rear seat covers
• rear floor cover that goes under seats
• wall covers for cargo area
• door covers for rear doors
• rear bumper cover
• inside hatch cover

It is a little over the top - but I keep vehicles for 10-15 years and really take care of them - it’s easier to trash a cargo cover than the crap plastic they put in the cars these days. I do not keep the seat covers on them unless I’m taking the car to a trailhead and will be a mess when I get back it.

No belt and suspenders either

I have the Tougher covers in my Grenadier and they are great. Just took delivery of my GX, and a few weeks ago I reached out to Mark and Tatum at Tougher. The said they have the covers for the Prado and would be glad to make them for the GX, just need pictures. I will send them some tomorrow so get ready as they will have them soon. I'll update here as soon as I get them.

At the least, I want that 2nd row bench seat cover for my Overtrail.

I've been waiting for CoverCraft to make the polycotton custom-fit seat covers that they make for 4Runners, etc., but for the GX 550, and I'm running out of patience. The Tougher looks as good, maybe better, than CoverCraft. If you can, ask Tougher for photos and details of their 2nd row seat, and see it they can handle the US split bench seat version as well. I'd hate to order a cover and find the bench seat separations in the Right Hand Drive locations.

UPDATE: I traded some emails with Tougher. They said that a few folks in the states have ordered the set for the Prado 250 and have indicated that they work well. Not a perfect fit, but they work. I am not sure I want to drop $500 (USD) on them for a 'decent' fit. However, as many of you know I could change my mind......LOL!

$693.66 (USD) for the Prado covers that may or may not fit.....the far back is looking really good for Boone-Dog!
