I love this car so much... (3500 miles on it) I am actually considering (into next year, maybe wait for the 2027's) an LX 700h. Maybe a 600. Honestly don't know the difference yet.

I just know that if there is something better than the 550, I will eventually want it.

Thoughts?

Better is subjective. I'd venture to guess a lot (most?) of the folks on this forum would have just bought the 700 if they wanted it, but this was the truck they wanted so in their minds is "better".

I don't know. Part of the fun is building my 550 out. Don't know if I want to change it out. I'm getting the new King suspension today. That may do it for me but it's fun doing new things to it and in it.

If I had a 700 a bumper and grillectomy would be at the top of the list.

LX700H is $45k+ more than a base GX. Really not much of a comparison. Both are dope in their own way

I very much prefer E-KDSS to AHC, so for that reason alone the LX isn’t for me. Although I do really like it

The LX is build on the same platform - so other than a much nicer interior - it’s the same vehicle….
The LX is based on the 300 Series Land Cruiser, the GX is based on the 250 Series Prado. The LX has beefier structural components on top of more power, more luxury, and a couple additional features. Same platform does not equate to same chassis, driveline, frame, etc. Think of a platform like Lego bricks where you can add or remove to a build as needed with a bunch of compatible parts and pieces.

Also since we are on the topic, I would 100% go for the LX 700 OT if they would do something about that front end. That's just my preference for the full fat land cruiser though. Old LX's like the 450/470 and even early year 570's are beautiful trucks.

I hear the claims of beefier components but the GX OT is rated to tow more. In addition, E-KDSS and AVS allows for a more controlled ride on road, off-road and towing vs the LX with AHC.

I’m not bashing the LX or claiming the GX is built better…. I’m just saying that the GX is a solid platform with greater towing capacity.

The LX is a bit too big for me. I'd pinstripe that thing horribly on the trails I frequent plus it's not as maneuverable. The GX is actually a bit too big too but what the hell. And second or third or whatever on the ugly front end of the LX!

Nice - keep us posted! I just got back from vaca and working up a full comparison of what I'd get from King vs. Icon is on my list of things to do after I finish about a million work-related tasks.

I love my OT+, but If I get the LX700h engine to replace mine, that would be sweet.

My dealer offered me an allocation for an LX700h Overtrail and I seriously considered trading in my ‘24 Land Cruiser First Edition for it. I really liked the LX from a functional perspective, but just couldn’t get past the grill.

When I turned down the LX allocation, the dealer reached out to me a couple weeks later and offered me an allocation for my ‘25 GX550 Overtrail+. I really like the form, fit, and function it offers. I think the interpretation of the spindle grill looks great on the GX.

Simple..
First, get a low mileage '19-'21 200 Series Land Cruiser. Apples and Oranges, you need both. .

Second, add the 700H front locking diff into your GX yeah!

Idk, Lexus would need to step their game up on the LX before I’d purchases one. The Sequoia Capstone is about on par with the LX for the cost of a GX. I would have gone with a Capstone had it not been for its hybrid engine.

I went to buy a Sequoia until I opened the rear hatch. That's when I switched to the GX.

What a disappointment. Terrible design with the rear seat sitting on top of the hybrid battery.
