I have an issue with a strange sour smell that occurs when first starting the car's air conditioner. Have had the vehicle for almost 10 months and this just started happening. Took it on a trip to the Colorado mountains and noticed it for the first time. The odor is similar to a vinegar aroma. It goes away with a few minutes of fan time. I have checked under the hood and cannot see anything out of the ordinary. Anyone else run across this?

This is a common problem, see attached video.
Great video! Car Care Nut always puts out so much information. The bit about the recirc is interesting. I was always told these mold smells you get is from running the AC through rain storms and using the recirc helps prevent that… guess that was some incorrect tribal knowledge.
