Transmission - Uodate (1 Viewer)

This is good intel so thank you for sharing. I hope it is correct. Unfortunately the fix has been a month away every month for the past few months.

Today I tried the idea from another transmission thread which is to disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes. This is suppose to reset the transmission memory. After doing this and driving around I found no change in the jerky/clunky shifts while going slow through the neighborhood, in fact, it may actually be worse. Worth a try, did not lose any pre-sets or radio stations. Hopefully Lexus will come up with a solution sooner rather than later.

Had my GX getting the brakes and hood flutter TSBs done and my dealer said transmission software update/fix is supposed to drop in November.

Hadn’t seen that date here yet unless I missed it
thank you for sharing. I always thought they wanted to keep the revs in the "sweet spot", but the downshift can get tiresome during city drive

Asked our service advisor on the transmission software update today, they were told it would be released a month or so from now. This is from a dealership in Massachusetts. Ours is at 12k miles and the lurching/ roughness at low gears was getting worse compared to a few months back. It’s still drivable but when slowing to a stop , it feels like I am driving a semi or a truck sometimes. Very noticeable to passengers.

Perfect timing. I was just wondering about this. It seems like the update is perpetually 1 month away, but I do understand the bottleneck with CARB approval and all that. Theres nothing that can slow a process down to a crawl like government bureaucracy and inefficiency, especially in 2025.
