Dealer selling me my car wants $4086 to for TRD exhaust. That includes tax & installation.

If the exhaust is $2270 or about $2450 after tax, sounds like an install quote of $1636.

Curious if you think sounds fair?

Also won’t roll into loan so wanting cash to do it…

now I’m doubting my post a little.. Lexus has the part for over $2k when building car online…

But then Lexus dealers SEEM to sell it for about a fourth of that like here:

Could it be the same part??

I orderd the parts from Bell Lexus, incuding the hardware kit that I probably don't need since I can re-use the existing stuff. Here's the cost, and I found out they are having a July 4th sale and offereng another 17% (~$325) off.

The $800 is just for the tail pipe component. That's not all you need. See my post above.
It would be great if you could do a before and after post. Very interested but this is my long drive family hauler and can’t deal with any drone and want to keep the cruising tolerable and only want the growl when I step on it. lol

Still hasn't arrived, but I plan to do at least a cold start comparison video when it's installed. I'm not expecting too much. But we'll see.

As an old, lifelong car guy, I expect this to give virtually no performance enhancement without other mods to compliment it, and I don't plan on doing any. I just hope it sounds better.
Thanks, I tried to look up performance enhancements from the product literature but it's not mentioned. I agree, a better sound is cool. Something I might look into when I'm done bleeding money with our remodel. These mods become addicting. My next priority is to remove the Wescott lift and replace it with a full suspension lift.

what kind of full suspension lift are you going to get?

I'm not sure, there are a few out there now. I like the idea of a coil over shock. The only reservation I have with the Westcott lift is the loss of droop. When were on those washboard trails it feels like something is going to break if I go too fast. I'm considering the King/Chaos suspension lift but there are a few more out there and a couple more coming on the market that I want to take a look at. It's interesting that when you look at the 4Runner builds that Westcott is now pitching it looks like they are going with a coil over suspension lift as well.

I'm not doing anything until probably this fall. I have my GX in storage until we are done with our remodel and its too hot in the desert now but I plan on getting back out there in October and would like to have a new lift by then.

I'm in the same boat. I assume you've seen this video:

Here's another one saying pretty much the same thing:

I really like the Icon system (especially after hearing that Six guy's feedback in his build thread) but I think it's ridiculous to spend $9,000 to $12,000 on the parts alone for Icon's top setup and have the company state that it's not even compatible with our trucks (the Overtrail). If they can figure out the AVS issues by the time I'm ready to commit, then Icon will be in the running. I'm leaning towards King right now. I'm old so I like the repeated use of the word "plush" in the description of King's suspension.

Shit, sorry Chris.....just realized this is your TRD cat-back thread and not a suspension thread! I'm sure we'll start another suspension thread to talk more about this stuff.

I have been waiting for this 17.5% off deal. It was 20% in previous years, though. Anyway, picked up the catback too so we can be twinzies @jclaffee . Btw, this is from Keyes Lexus in Sherman Oaks, CA. The trick for the best price is to go to parts.lexus.com, search your part #, enter your zip code to view more dealers, and go down the list to see which one has the best price in your area. You can also order for pickup to save money but a lot of dealers are offering free or discounted shipping right now.

That is a very good deal. Thanks for sharing. About the install, would you do this yourself or have a shop do it? Just wondering what the cost of labor would be for this.

It is bolt-on so I don't anticipate any troubles installing it myself in my driveway. I have a motorcycle jack with a big platform I can use to lift it into place. Not including digging out my tools, I bet I can do this job in less than an hour, but I will keep you posted.
