Just picked up a GX Overtrail. I need to purchase a waterproof cargo mat. I also need to access the tie-down points. Any preferences of one over the other?

Ditto on the factory mat. Has worked well on two multi-week trips with gear, rain, and mud. I usually go aftermarket on stuff like this but Lexus did a decent job with this one.

Only complaint I have on the factory cargo mat is that it has those square notches that makes it hard to slide heavier items since they can catch a corner of squares. I’m actually annoyed enough that I may look for a flatter mat.

The factory waterproof cargo and floormats are very nice. They are thick and fit perfect, including holes so that the forward tie-downs are accessible. I have no doubt that they will age better than anything you might be able to get from a 3rd party like Weathertech. I've had Weathertech mats in both a 2nd Gen and a 4th Gen 4Runner, but not because I like them, but because they are pretty much the only game in town if you don't like or can't get OEM mats. Frankly, my experience is that they feel a bit cheap when new and within a year will curve/droop/crease oddly at the edges. The material they use is probably too thin for the ~1" lip they mold in and is certainly stiffer than the OEM (which sort of flop, but in a solid, confidence inspiring way rather than a hollow, plasticy way).

My only complaint about the Lexus mats is that they are branded "Lexus" and "GX" quite prominently. The interior of the car has zero branding beside the "L" on steering wheel, which I appreciate. Not sure why they need to call this out on the mats - are they assuming you will forget what kind of car you got into?

Got the Weathertech, really like it and it fits perfectly. Purchased the one with the fold out bumper protector, snaps on and rolls up neatly.

I really like it. Cleans up easily and looks new. I use 303 Cleaner.

I bought the weathertech mat for mine, because it perfectly fits the shape of the 3 row trunk area without any holes for tie downs that I don't have.

I tied down a Miata transmission (only 90 pounds) my second week of ownership before I bought the liner and put some permanent dents into the delicate carpet, so I found the cargo liner worth the money.

I also found it annoying that when carrying my portable floor jack, the wheels would get caught in the Latch anchor hole and in the cavity between the two third row seats.

Takes a while to flatten out after shipping though.

Mine went right in, perfectly flat. It was 95 deg here and expected to have to lay it out in the sun to flatten, but did not have to.

Can someone post a picture of the OEM one? Trying to compare difference with WeatherTech.
