Lots to like about the GX but turns out after 3800 miles it is not for me. Luxury model, white with saddle tan/brown trim interior. Will post more details later. What suggestions do you have as to the best way to sell and the price to ask? Thanks.

Check your local postings on cargurus/auto trader and perhaps take it to Carmax/get an online quote from Carvana. I'd also plug into KBB and just get a sense of the min and max.

I see you're in NC - I've seen a few posted for more than new ones MSRP was a few months ago. Not sure if that is still the case.

Are you replacing the GX with another vehicle?

Most likely the LX 600 will be the replacement. Love the Lexus brand. Yes to NC. Were the ones you saw posted individuals or dealers?

I agree with the advice to get a Carmax quote. Trading it for the LX might also get you the dollars you want. Even if less than a private sale or Carmax, maybe the sales tax offset will make the difference and less hassle too. One thing is for certain; your dealer will be able to resell for MSRP or better, so don't settle for a lowball.

The offer I got from CarMax was within $500 of the dealership.

The dealership claimed they wouldn’t offer over MSRP because they sell new GXs at MSRP. But the dealership sends them to auction because they sell for more than MSRP at auction. They get marked up even more from there. I’m pretty sure that’s why sites like KBB still don’t show any trade-in values.

Even with the strong resale market, nobody was really willing to negotiate on the trade-in value. Please share how your experience goes… I’m hoping you get a solid offer

Your dealer may actually give you a sweet trade-in deal. I'd explore that first, if for no other reason than the convenience. Too many scammers out there if you try a private sale. And I've had two very good experiences with CarMax also.

I might be selling mine as well. TBD. We're not "bonding". I hate the way it handles, TBH - lots of body roll/bobble and the heavy weight gives it a ton of understeer. And the electronics gremlins are really annoying (ML sound system sucks, CarPlay implementation sucks, most of the driver aids are too intrusive). Add to that the real world fuel economy and small gas tank, and it just might not fit my lifestyle.

It doubly sucks because I've invested over $5K in upgrades (wheels, tires, various lighting enhancements, and storage system in the third row).

In retrospect I probably should have spent a bit more and gone for something like a Cayenne or an SQ7.

I hate taking the hit for the upgrades I've done, but if the truck and I don't start liking each other, it's best to end the relationship before we hate each other.

I'm thinking along your lines as well. At least I will cease all further upgrades and put that money towards a Rossmonster van or Baja Plus. In the meantime I will enjoy the truck until closer to warranty expiration then make some changes.

I ordered OT+ at MSRP; it was supposed to be delivered on July 8, but after reading more about the truck and catching up on the vibrations, electronic problems, and the lack of spare parts, I decided to hold off.
Will check out GX again in a couple of years.

Probably trading it in. Everyone offers 80K here on trade. With NC sales tax that is the equivalent of 82.400 direct sale. MSRP was 82,400, plus I am out the tax I paid and the dealer upcharges of around $1,000. I am okay with that. Some of the additional issues mentioned above were a nuisance for me. But even if they were managed, the wind noise at 60+ mph was too much for me. No cross bars, only the rails. Sounds like a B grade horror movie. Really wanted to like this ride. Wife has 2023 RX350 and it is sweet ride. I drove the LX 600 after I decided to shuck the GX. LX is more luxury ride but cumbersome and it actually has a similar though lower volume of wind noise. Too much money to have that. Will go back to GLE 450 or X5 I think.

I would ask at least as much as you paid for it.

Sorry but if you have the Luxury/+ model you got the wrong one with the 22 “ wheels it just doesn’t ride well. It just rides too stiff! I test drove all 3 models. I have an OT+ and I love it. Remember it’s a body on frame so it’s gonna ride a little stiff. But on the freeway it’s very smooth. I think the large tires and EKDSS makes the ride a lot smoother. I’ve had mine for 9 mos or so now and 5000 mi and just had the first service. They fixed the brake squeak with replacing the entire front brake components, and adjusted the hood bumpers and almost no hood flutter. My passenger massage had a problem so they’re ordering a part for that. Everything else works fine. You have to put time into learning the tech because there’s a lot of stuff to learn but once I figured it out everything is fine now. Watch this . I know it’s long and you don’t have to watch it in one sitting but it was very helpful.

I've bought and sold a lot of cars...I would be very happy with getting MSRP back when considering the tax credit.

Great post. Local Lexus dealer offered me a 2025 OT+ yesterday. Loaded. $87K. I cringed when she told me the price. Not too long ago, I passed on a regular OT for $74,000. Kicking myself now.

On Sunday I sold my original 18" Overtrail wheels & tires to a guy who has a Luxury and he's replacing the 22" rubber band wheels & tires because the ride sucks. I don't know how you could expect to have a nice, comfy ride in a truck this big & heavy on 22" wheels! What the aspect ratio on the 22" tires?

I also agree on all the tech - you have to learn it and master it. The only thing that remains a thorn in my side is the front cross-traffic alert because it doesn't turn off permanently. Every other tech annoyance has been mastered.

Agreed with @Bluegill - many fixes to the annoyances (some low tech (e.g, tape), others high tech), but that lingering cross-traffic alert is the final piece of the puzzle. Everyone once in a while (at max frustration), I consider spending the time to zero in on the sensor and grabbing a pair of wire cutters! There should be a dedicated thread to this one, ha.
