Update : 6/11/26 - good news and bad news.
Bad news is that the private off road venue in Malibu mountains where we were looking to host this event idea was not amenable to even viewing the course location without having a “Lexus production team present.” 🙄
Its hard to say if it would have...
Right! It’s an impervious mobile man cave - with air conditioning. 😅 I like how they did the power windows with ballistic glass .. looks really well done.. Don’t have to own it to appreciate it i always say!
If they marketed to LE agencies, I could totally see this as a nice adjunct for rapid...
Yeah I’m sure super heavy and probably 8-10 mpg (like a bearcat) … but I could imagine it would make a pretty dialed in Armored Tactical Response vehicle and for use in Executive protection which is probably their main market… off road capable but with a smaller foot print than a bearcat or medcat.
I was just reading the thread about the “best place to put an holstered firearm” (IMHO - Probably in your gun safe at home.)
Interesting that many feel the need to have a concealed or openly displayed firearm accessible in their GX … but then some parts of the world are not as safe as others...
Hmmm 🤔 20 mpg and bone stock.. I never get better than 17 .. and I’m not a lead foot on the GX…
Another factor - are people who get 20+ MPG driving alone or is the car loaded with people / luggage etc?
There must be something that kicks up the mileage of a subset of GX owners… you can only...
Have to say I’m so impressed that some of you ford water at such depth in these new $100k vehicles … very very brave and super cool..
You guys are the GX navy seals of our collective!
I’m living vicariously through your posts!!! Nothing around here that allows testing the GX’s water fording...
It’s an off shoot of that post (the one I started on “best drive modes” ) … I didn’t check our Panamanian friends calculations… but it sparked an argument for “an octane factor”…
I’m interested in finding a local spot that sells higher octane fuel than Costco (91) and seeing if there isn’t an...
I have to admit ignorance on these finer details (outside my educational wheel house).. I suspect however that in the case of our Panamanian colleague that the octane of his local Chevron gas is actually higher given his lower fuel consumption with all other factors being similar. (He detailed...
So it appears that the missing data point from all of the MPG data in this thread is …. Octane… I just learned in an exchange with one of our members in Panama that he is running 95 octane, gas and getting higher mileage (19-21) than the rest of us (17 max - likely with 91 octane).
Came upon this video from Lexus that demonstrates how to use and calibrate the trailer brake controller for towing with your new GX. Useful information in a short instructional video.
