Right now it will likely flag as an interim recall. If your engine is replaced it will say powertrain/engine replaced and it will likely reference "Manufacturer service campaign. It won't mention an engine failure unless your engine fails and requires a new powertrain under warrnaty.

Yeah, I don't buy that at all. I was just checking out the Longo Lexus GX inventory and everyone one of them has a sale pending, and every time I go into my local dealership for the various TSB's, routine maintenance or the camera recall, they try to extend an offer to buy my OT+. That never...
I'm pretty sure a good dealer would take care of that. My Land Cruiser had a trim issue that was covered by warranty, and Lexus is a little more customer service oriented.
I've been thinking long and hard about this recall. I'm confident Lexus/Toyota will replace any engine that fails. We have a pretty substantial powertrain warranty and this issue does create a case for some goodwill if this happens outside of the warranty period.
Hey there, I don't think the issue is whether or not Lexus will honor your warranty, but rather will the state of Maryland allow you to renew your registration with an open recall.
Yes, that was the reason I initially purchased that vehicle over the OT+. I don't know why they made that manufacturing choice.
Toyota does some quirky things. LC Premium I have comes with all leather, memory seats, leather, and a digital mirror. We have a XSE Camry that's supposed to be top...
I love my OT+, I think the ride improved a lot post transmission service bulletin. The suspension took a bit to break in, but I don't recall it being too bouncy though.
The LC 250 is a great vehicle once you get over the 4 cylinder bias. I think it produces enough power for most driving...
The explanation I got was there was a step missed in the programming of the machine used in both engine plants. This is a painful moment for me. I have 4 family vehicles effected by recalls, and my German car loving wife is having a field day with this. :-)
The service manager at my dealership told me the US plant in Alabama makes the engines for the Tundra and Sequoia. The Land Cruiser 300, LX 600 and GX 550 engines are built in Japan.
The video I'm attaching to this is the best explanation I've seen on this recall. This guy is a bit of a...
