Engaging the Center Differential and 4Lo Periodically?

Don't engage/lock the differentials unless you are on a surface that can accommodate the left tires/wheels/axles turning at different speeds than the right tires/wheels/axles and then we have the center locking differential. Remember the radius of one side of the vehicle is greater than/less...

    Luxury + front mud guards

I don't have pictures of my M.Fs. but, if you have seen the black MFs from the Lexus dealer, mine look just like them. They fit perfectly, attach easily and stand up to wind etc... that I thought might be a problem.

Hate your HVAC system? This may help.

Excellent post. For those that want to change S-Flow to default to OFF, talk to your dealer. I have my 1 year PM coming up and have scheduled the dealer to make the change to have S-Flow always off rather than to go back to ON after the one hour with engine OFF. Just talk to the dealer.

    Heat/vent issues

Just make sure the S-Flow switch is TURNED OFF every time you get into the vehicle. The vehicle will turn the S-Flow back on after one hour of the engine being off. You can get your dealer to set the S-Flow to OFF as default. That is in another set of HVAC comments her on the forum. Good Luck!

TPMS Sensors not recognizing after OEM OT wheel swap

Good, detailed job. Follow the manual, plan it out before getting in the vehicle - which sounds to me you did.

High Mount Brake Light - Pulsing Mod

In Human Performance, a person is attracted to a flashing light much quicker than a steady shining light. Even red lights. I am sorry you get irrationally angry when you get behind a vehicle that has the flashing light - it only flashes about four or five times then it goes steady on like a...

    Air Flow / S-Flow?

Hey, Man! Thanks for that info. My next service I'll ask for that.

    Toyota V35A-FTS Engine Teardown

It would be interesting to know about the replacement engine - did it "blow" due to the same reason as the originally installed engine. I have a neighbor that has very recently had to replace the engine in his Tahoe. GM has had a terrible time with the L87 V-8 in MANY of the Tahoes. After he...

    Air Flow / S-Flow?

If you leave Recirculation ON, which means the fresh air intake is CLOSED, the inside cabin air will, over time, begin to condense on the interior side of the windows i.e. "fog over". The Fresh Air damper should remain OPEN when possible. "system off and I start moving it seems like air flow is...

    Toyota V35A-FTS Engine Teardown

If the replacement engines are "the same defective engine" Toyota/Lexus must have made a whole lot of them and stashed them in a warehouse somewhere. I give some credit to Lexus knowing not to swap out a bad engine for a - bad engine. But hey, even GM knows better than that..... Naw - they...

High Mount Brake Light - Pulsing Mod

I want to change out the bulb or add a pulsing modulator to the High Mount/3rd Brake light so the light will flash when braking. Has anyone performed this mod? Has anyone looked into adding a pulsing modulator? Morimoto makes a pulsing modulator that is "plug-n-play". Uses "factory" type wiring...

    Low mileage oil change intervals

Follow Lexus miles/annual recommendation. If you hit 10k first, change the oil. If you hit 12 months since oil change, change the oil. Simple. :)

    AC question

You should be able to search this forum and find LOTS of A/C discussion. Someone already said keep the S-Flow switch off - every time you crank your car, you should check the S-Flow switch and ENSURE it is OFF. If your car is not cranked within one hour, the car itself will turn S-flow ON. So...

    Oil changes with testing

Tells me the oil sample is NORMAL for a new engine going through break in. If this is the first oil sample taken, there is NO PREVIOUS sample and the analysis indicates a new engine just starting into the break-in. Those particular numbers with red indication will trend up/stay high until the...
