I did NOT pull plastic off the car. I noticed at noon one day that water was dripping from the bottom of the driver door when i opened it. It had rained the day prior, so thought it was weird that my car was baking in the sun and I had driven to work and somehow water was still dripping from...
Not sure if this will fix this issue or not, but the lexus tech seemed pretty confident he located the smell and it was same spot on other 550’s he’s already replaced. Maybe smell this part of your door after your next rain or wash, after it has sat wet for 12 hours. Photo of moulding part...
I left at dealer 2 days ago and the tech said he had already located this and repaired this same problem with other 2024 GX’s. He said he hasn’t run across it yet with any 2025 GX’s. He said he knew exactly where to smell mine and sure enough the smell was coming from there.

Tariffs were lowered not eliminated. Tariffs or no tariffs, do you know anytime in the history of modern vehicles where the price has gone down for non-EV luxury brands (specifically Lexus)?
As long as GX 550 demand is outpacing production, you will continue to see them adding more cost with...
I can add to this thread. Just hand washed my car yesterday. Hasn’t rained in weeks where I am, and no smell. This morning my cars smells of mildew after the wash. My doors and windows were rolled up and tightly closed. I have also noticed water traps in door after a rain.
Based on this...
Carcarenut had a video about the new engines. Lexus stopped the rollout right after manufacture begin for “quality control” for the 550’s in jan/feb 2024. Carcarenut pointed out parts were discontinued in their catalogue and updated with the new part #’s. The discontinued parts were the same...
Dropped off GX today for 15k service and ran into my salesman. He told me the tariffs will trickle down to MSRP, confirmed by Lexus corporate, how much, he said, is currently unknown. So glad I got my 2024.
I’m in insurance, and you’re covered as long as you have collision coverage. You collide with something, you’ll pay your deductible, they’ll pay for the fix, then surcharge your policy unless you have accident forgiveness.
Replacing old used parts with better new parts for free with no labor cost is prissy, lol?
Seems smart to me.
The prissy bunch seems to be the easily offended people who have hurt feelings about suggestions to have the “quirks” fixed for free.
You can’t take an hour out of your day to drop...
This is an already known documented problem with countless other threads. Someone advising to go get brand new parts for free with free labor and a loaner is not being a keyboard hero, its advising a person who may not know what is available. You seem offended by my response to the OP to offer...
That seems like a lot of work and possibly dangerous driving to maybe fix your brakes.
I know there are long wait times for parts for some, but I much prefer taking my car to Lexus, getting one of their loaners, and they swap out all the old stuff for brand new parts for free. Got mine...
They are so similar in a lot of aspects (including price), but I can’t see how someone would prefer the LC250 over the 550. There are 3 major differences that are important to me:
1.) powertrains: the 6mpg more the LC250 gets to sacrifice power is too marginal to go with a hybrid, to me. If...
