4 pin rewiring fiasco! (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

I ran to a problem trying to replace the 4 pine male thats on my landscape trailer, 1 on the pins broke.

When I cut the wire open it had yellow, green,3 browns and 3 whites. In the process of connecting the wires we inadvertently touched the wire against another and blew the stop/running circuit.

We went through and tested every fuse, and nothing was blown. It take this the next level I backed to my camper with a 7 pin, and neither the sop/running would work there either.

Im out of options to hope someone can save the day!!

This car should have an integrated circuit breaker for all the trailer lighting wiring. To reset it, the manual says to manually turn the lights fully off from the stalk (if you're in the US, turn it to "DRL Off" mode), then turn them back on again, and that should reset the circuit breaker.

Good luck - I accidentally shorted some wires too when fumbling around with the connector at night.
 
I've tried the Red to 5 and Black to 1 to power a compressor - but it never worked. Have it set for Red to 4 and Black to 1 and have power

I'm surprised it works (Red to 4 and Black to 1) as there is only a 10A fuse showing on the #4 circuit. I suggest checking the compressor amperage draw. #3 is the ground. Will your compressor only run when the GX is running? Pin 5 is fed through a 40A fuse and would be my choice (Red [power]to 5 and Black [gnd]to 3).

I tried the R5 and B1 - zero power to the unit. I do need to turn on the car (without engine) to make the R4 B1 work. I called Viair and they confirmed 1 is the ground.
