A big thanks to all the forum members for all the great insights and information during our wait. On Thursday, 636 days after placing our deposit we took delivery of our GX OT+. Grateful, as it actually came early because we were expecting it in August this year. The allocation seemed to be moved up shortly after the US tariffs became official.
I did pass on 2 calls from the dealer of availability on cancelled orders as we wanted Eminent White Pearl

We did a 1000 km easy paced drive down to Long Beach, Washington for a quick break-in. Leaving for an a 2 month Alaska trip with our travel trailer on Thursday this week. We have service appointment booked for an oil change in June at the Lexus dealer in Anchorage AK.

Based on a full tank at delivery and filling up twice and dividing the miles traveled by gallons needed to fill up, we got 20.3 and then 21.5 mpg using Eco and mostly Comfort mode and while varying our speed staying under 70 mph.
Switched to MPH etc via the MPG/L100km unit change

Coincidentally, there was the 8th annual, Go Topless Day, Jeep rally in Long Beach this weekend. We didn’t join in the beach parade as we appeared to be the lone Lexus GX in town.

Hooking up the trailer, the bottom of the rear wheel fender molding went down from 39-1/8” to 37-3/8” for an 1-3/4 inch drop. Not going to worry about airbag at this time.

I have purchased a hitch carrier for the back of the trailer and plan to carry 2 - 5 gallons gas cans for 10 gallons of backup gas. Overall, I am not seeing any issues along the main routes but it may be good to have when we go 4 wheelin’ from camp. Coming from a Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel so we will be having a few more pit-stops.

The shortage of storage in the front quickly became apparent.

We did lose all audio once from both the radio and with Apple CarPlay but after we restarted the car it was back. There are times where the “sound system” sounds like a single speaker AM Radio from the centre of the dash.
Apparently there is a fix on the way according to the Facebook - Lexus TX Mark Levinson Sound System Owners Group

We’ll need a Dealer fix to turn off of down the back gate beeps?
I’ll be waking up a few fellow campers if I need to into the back at night. May have to climb in the back window to get stuff.

A couple of details to still work out but pretty exciting and so much to love.
Think we got the best SUV tow vehicle possible and we will be having a lot of good times going forward.

Cheers!

Making the hitch adjustments.

So glad you posted. Just got my Overtrail and one of main purchase reasons was towing a trailer. Have been using a 4Runner (airbags) but pulling in the Rockies or with a headwind was not a fun experience. Can you tell me what your tongue weight and total trailer weight was, if known? Sway Control or WDH used? For me the 1 3/4" drop might actually help me with levelling. Started looking at hitch set up today for an upcoming trip after engine break in. BTW - have the Eminent White Pearl too. Love the contrasting color.

I haven't towed yet, I have to get my hitch dropped 1-1/2"s and I don't have the tools for that. I use an Anderson WDH ( Weight Distribution Hitch w/ Sway Control | Andersen Hitches ) and really like it in all aspects. I just put on an old 2" hitch ball to test the suspension drop so I could calculate what need to be done so the top of my hitch ball is at 21-1/2'"s which let's my trailer sits level. My hitch weight is at about 425 lbs and the the trailer is at about 3800+ lbs dry.
