Anyone experiencing shipping delays with Dissent? (1 Viewer)

Ordered sliders in July and at the time it was 8-12 weeks of lead time (still listed as that on their website). Starting in October, I emailed them 3 times asking about my order, and each time I got prompt response saying my order would be shipping the following week, usually accompanied by some excuse like a bad batch of powder coating, etc. Here we are at the end of November and nothing much has changed. Anyone else experiencing delays? I wonder what's going on with them. I hope it does not turn out to be another Pelfreybuilt situation.

I don't mind the delays so much as the poor transparency and communication.

I ordered sliders from them on August 27th. Same as you I have received prompt replies to my delivery inquiries. I believe I had the same 8-12 week window of estimated shipping.

I checked progress on October 6th (6th week) and they replied:

Thanks for checking in. I apologize that we are running a bit late on these. The bodies are being sandblasted this week, and the tread plates will be coated next week. We are likely about 2-3 weeks out from being able to ship these. Thank you for your patience!

I checked in on November 6th (10th week) and they replied:

Thanks for checking in. Unfortunately these are still running a bit behind due to our laser being down. We were unable to cut some of the pieces that we needed to finish this batch and get them through sand blast. We are still about 2-3 weeks out due to the machinrey failure. I apologize for the delay!

Thought I'd check in again in early December and hoping they will be close to shipping! I'll post here when I get shipping info.

So far, I have received:

"We are coating the tread plates this Friday, and these will be slated to ship the following week."

and several weeks later...

"We had to remake a part of the batch due to a welding issue. I am hopeful for these to ship next week."

My third inquiry has gone into the void, but I will cut them some slack since its Thanksgiving week. Curiously, there is no notices on their website about Thanksgiving closure.

Here is my email from today with Dissent. Would be nice if they kept you in the loop on a $2,000 purchase if they were going to miss delivery time projections they sent in emails. Guess I am at their mercy now as I am not going to eat $1,000 to cancel. This is week 14 since I ordered.

Hi Owen,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that these are running a bit behind, but these products do have lead times of 12-18 weeks. We had a batch of these that had to be redone, so unfortunately the ship time that I gave you previously is not obtainable. I do apologize for this, but it is unfortunately out of our control. We are working a new batch of these, and I am hoping to have these done in the next 4-6 weeks. I understand that this is less than ideal, and I am sorry for that.

Unfortunately this far into the lead time and production process, your order would be subject to our cancellation policy that is agreed to upon checkout which states up to a 50% cancellation fee.

Refund policy

Please let us know if you would like to proceed with the cancellation.

I followed up with them. Sounds like they are trying and they have followed up with each inquiry in a day or two. We will see where it all lands! Hopefully I'll be seeing these sliders ship in early 2026! I'll report back next year!

We try very hard not to, but sometimes it does happen. I know you're getting close to the full lead time, and I will be keeping an eye on it. If we do hit and exceed the 18 week mark, I am able to refund the shipping as an apology. I promise they are worth it, and I understand it's been a while! We are working hard to get these done while still maintaining our Dissent quality.

I'll check in with you when I have a new update. I will be leaving the company at the end of the month, but I will make sure our customer service team is aware that the refund is authorized if necessary.

Its not a great sign that she is leaving the company. I never got a response to my last email so I just emailed them again. So far, its been 21 weeks for me. I don't mind waiting until they eventually ship as long as there are no further delays.
