Anyone have recommendations on door sill protection? I was looking on amazon and do not know what is good or not. Clear or Black or .... I dont trust all the amazon recommendations

Lexus sells an Illuminated Door Sill kit specifically for the GX 550. It’s expensive (~$300-400), but it replaces the plastic piece entirely and looks incredible at night.

Yup, illuminated door sills are sick. Recommend mod to get if it doesn't come as standard accessory. The only issue (IMHO) is that you will still need to be careful not to scratch up the metal sill with your shoes.

You can also also consider adding custom PPF for a "clean" look.

I have the illuminated doors sills and they look very nice, however they don't provide any additional protection over the original sills.

When I was doing my tint/window ppf I had the installer put ppf over my rear door sills/wheel arch.

I put the WeatherTech sill protector on mine, all 4 doors. Slightly expensive, but they fit great, they work and haven’t come loose.
Let me know if you’d like better pics or measurements..
