I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has experienced an extremely loud cracking/popping noise inside their GX550 while driving?
I was driving approximately 65mph on a state highway when I heard what I thought was the loudest windshield impact I had ever heard in a vehicle. It was so loud I immediately slowed down a s started scanning the windshield for damage, expecting to see significant damage. What was strange is that there weren’t any other vehicles nearby that would have thrown up a rock or debris.
I pulled off the road to check the car for damage, especially to the windshield, A-pillars, side mirrors, leading edge of roof, etc. and there was literally no damage.
I got back in the car totally perplexed and then started wondering if it was the windshield expanding/contracting or if it could have been an extremely loud noise through one or more speakers that simply sounded like an impact. Could it be a momentary glitch in the Active Noise Cancelling or could it have been radio interference?
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
