GX550 OT+ vs. 6th gen 4Runner TRD Pro (4 Viewers)

Anyone here own both or maybe spent some decent seat time in the 6th gen 4rRunner? My GX arrived back in April, but I was also on the list for a 4Runner TRD Pro. I never canceled that reservation. Well, the dealer called and there is a TRD Pro for me, arriving in a couple months. Now, it would be totally irrational to take it and have 2 similar body on frame SUVs, but of course I want to. I've read the reviews and have seen the comparison videos, but curious if anyone is living with a 6th gen day to day and can share thoughts. Bonus points if you can help me rationalize owning both (putting $$ considerations aside).

I like the new 4Runner. Just one major problem for me The interior is just too small. My GX OT feels like a real truck inside. Can’t say the same for the 4Runner

I had the GX and now I own a 4Runner. 4runner interior is cheap, I mean everything is hard plastic. It has a smaller interior. However, the 4Runner feels easier to drive.

Unless you’re doing more hardcore off-roading where you’d need the 4 Runner’s extra approach and departure clearance, the GX is superior in many ways. Visibility is much better with the higher roof and windows, the cargo area of your GX will dwarf the 4 Runner (I fit a whole Lazboy in its box in my GX without issue), the GX tows more, and has a nicer interior with more features, but a bigger screen in the 4 Runner because it has a separate bank of buttons for the climate. You also have full time 4wd in the GX vs the 4 Runner. And at nearly 70k for the TRD Pro trim, the GX is a better value.

Test drove an iForce Max 4Runner a couple months ago. The only thing I liked about it over my GX was the driver seat. I thought it was way more comfortable and form-fitting. Wasn’t a bad vehicle overall but would choose the GX over it any day of the week.
