The new version of Toyota infotainment system on the rav4 includes an integrated drive recorder using the 360 cameras. Front/back/side, with manual and automatic recording. Am sure it will roll out across the range of Lexus and Toyota products in future years. Wonder if there’s any possibility of it being an OTA update for the 24-26 GXs. Seems like the hardware is all there and our infotainment system is one of the newest out there.

Not having this built in was one of my bigger disappointments (versus bmw). BMW does push meaty updates like this out over OTA, maybe this could happen for us?

There's no way this will come to the current system, since it's not simply a software update, it's an entirely new system.

Read about it here: it specifically says "it will make its debut in America’s best-selling compact SUV, the all-new 2026 RAV4, before rolling out to future models in the Toyota lineup."

The best that could be hoped for with the GX is the mid-cycle refresh containing the new system whenever that happens, but that would be MY2027 at earliest, since we already know that 2026 is a carryover year.
