No for me, unfortunately. The state transpo dept, and the various local municipalities, live to spread massive amounts of salt and salt brine on the local roads and highways.
It just might be different this time because the air temps will (mostly) be below the point, 15 to 16 F, where salt is effective. Although that is a dicey proposition because the really low temps might just prompt the geniuses to put down double, triple or quadruple the usual dosage/concentration.
Every car I've ever owned developed rust after a certain point. I just paid several $k to have the underbody rust removed from my current daily driver just so it would pass an annual mechanical inspection.
So I tell myself, yes it would be nice to go out and play around in the snow in a new 550, but why do that to a new vehicle with a pristine underbody (I've been under it a few times for oil changes) when I have an older vehicle with 4x4 drive that I care less about getting salt and brine up into the undercarriage.
Have fun, take some pics or a video and let us know how it went!
Well, driving on snow is inevitable in my location. I have to say, I am very impressed by GX550's stability and traction control on deep snow. Even without Centre locker and MTS engaged, I still feel very stable on snow with overtrail's stock tires. Very impressed.
Northeast CT here and we are going to get bombed. Few trails up here that I plan on taking it out on in the early phase of the storm and possibly the day after. Didn't buy this thing to baby so we're going to have some fun with a few buddies - Bronco & Tacoma. He's been dying to test out some recovery gear. Hope we don't need it!
