Key Cards...how are you guys carrying them?

I don't have a big enough wallet for a key card. Is it time to grow up and get a huge wallet to fit all my receipts? I usually like carrying my card to the gym which usually ends up getting tossed around.

My wife got me one of these a few years ago - a few different brands carry similar versions. I love mine. Has a strap for cash and you can even put an apple tag on some of these if you're forgetful and want to ping your wallet's locations.

Mine does have the RFID blocker on it but it seems to work most of the time. I say most because a few times when I had the card carrier in my jacket pocket, it didn't immediately open the vehicle up. I had to get myself closer to the vehicle and once I had to pull the card carrier out of my coat for it to recognize it. This only happened on a few occasions.

I guess it depends on how many receipts you carry at a time. You can certainly fold them up and place them inside the card carrier or use the cash strap.

My OT will come with a key card. It seems really convenient as long as it performs the same functions.

Do most people carry that instead of the full electronic key?

I've used the credit card key for more than a decade now, it fits in my wallet, my first was from a Mercedes SL500 R230 and my second was from a Lexus LS600Lh

Digital key is 100% useless, wish it worked. My tesla "key" is just inside the app and it works flawlessly

Yeah, it pretty much works as a replacement for the full key. I wasn't really sure initially due to my habit of carrying my keys but I love having it as a way to cut down on stuff to carry with me.

The tech person who helped me log in the first time into the Lexus app pretty much said not to download the digital key as it was useless. The app seems to be fine for what it is and I do really like the key card.

I couldn't agree more. Carry a real key as a backup?? What is the point of the $350 option then? I don't even carry the Tesla key card, except perhaps during winter hiking (cold).

The Lexus key does fit in this magsafe wallet, though I usually carry it separately. Amazon.com

The digital key isn't great, but it is far from useless. Not as good as my Tesla one (as someone said), but it functions quite well to lock or start the car when I'm at home and want to do those.
The keycard is a bit thicker than I like so I don't bother to carry it. I just use the keyfobs or app on my iphone. I carry a house key around so I don't mind the key fob. If I was completely keyless I'd care more.

I used service mode on my tesla and it showed me at least four different bluetooth receivers indicating the signal strength as I moved my bluetooth paired iphone 16 around the car and inside the car

Using lexus digital key is a question mark, will it be recognized? Will it work? I just keep the credit card key in my wallet.

Lexus wants us to turn into George....

Forgive my ignorance, but is the "key card" an option? Or do all GX550s come with it?
It's just a generic key for the Lexus, you can get it on any Lexus from your parts department if the key card didn't come with your car already. I remember getting them for my 2008 IS-F

Don't use the key card so it is stored somewhere. I use the key fob since I have house keys. The digital key is used for fun but it is mostly useless.

I’ve had trouble with the key card being recognized at times.. especially when it’s in my wallet. I have to pull it out and hold it up to the car or have it in my pocket (I’ve sense taken it out completely and don’t use anymore). I actually find the digital key (Lexus phone app) working well when I’m in a pinch to get out of the house and have my phone on me. I do have to open the app on my phone first to get it to connect to the car. Is that the experience of others?

I’ve found the app to be so inconsistent that I no longer trust it to use away from the house. I’d rather carry a key since I use a very thin wallet and the card is just too big.
