How to Remove Lux+ OEM Roof Rack? (Non-OT rack) (1 Viewer)

Hi All

Anyone have instructions for how to remove the factory non-OT roof rack?

I got the side cover off, but which bolts remove the rack mount from the rails? Is it the two silver hex head bolts (circled in yellow in my pic) or the T40 Torx bolt (circled in red)? If the T40torx, how in the world do you fit a tool in there, the only T40torx I can find is to long by itself to fit the wrench on it, and it’s not a hex head, it’s round.

Having a tuxedo wrap done on Monday so need to get the rack off this weekend.

The middle blue marked bolt needs removed. Got this on Amazon and worked perfectly being flush enough.

Got it figured out but mine did not come with the tool. I am think the tool comes with the bars maybe and not the rack but could be wrong and the dealer just misplaced mine.

Interesting tool. Thx. I found an Torx Key set but this would definitely have been cheaper!

BTW, after I removed the full roof rack on my Lux+ I found the road wind noise to be much quieter, and the panoramic view so much nicer. The OEM roof rack looks nice but poorly designed in my opinion.

Same. The wind noise from the OEM rack is crazy! Once I removed it, you realize how quiet the GX is.
