I experienced a key fob that stopped working suddenly. I was only able to start the car by holding in my hand and pressing the start/stop button. I had to open the key up, pull the battery and put it back in. After that, everything started working again. Very strange for a 2 month old vehicle.

Any one else had the same issue?

I think there is a key combo to disable the wireless aspect of the key.

Did you perhaps do that by accident?

I think that happened to me once. Held the key to the start button and all was well after.

That would be a very bad accident. No idea how that would happen. I did the key start next to the button about 4 times today. Had to call my wife to use the app to unlock and open.

In another thread it was mentioned that if you place the fob on the wireless phone charger (a convenient place to put it) it will kill the battery in the fob. Any chance that happened?

Oh my goodness. I have changed the battery in the Key fab 5 times now. It’s never inconvenient when it happens but have been able to get into the car and start it using my iPhone. You can get in with the key that’s in the key fab, and you can start the car by hold the key fab up against the start stop button. It’s on my list of dealer issues, but in the meantime I’ve been carrying a pack of 6 2032 batteries in the glovebox.

The key fab shape fits perfectly left of an iPhone in the charger tray! That’s where I put it when I hop in the car. I’m gonna keep the key fab in my pocket and see if that fixes the issue.

TY for the tip, but come on Lexus, this shouldn’t be.
