I have a 2026 OT+ with a Westcott roof rack, ladder, and side molle panels. I am in AZ a want my build to support local business as much as possible. Tougher to do than one would think...
Any way, I just purchased a 270 degree awning that I am looking forward to using. However, I do not want it drive around with it all of the time. Nor, do I want to disassemble the roof rack every time I want to take the awning off or put it on. So, I would like to find quick release awning brackets to make this easier.
Simple project, right? Right...
Problem is that my Westcott rack does not have any side channels to use the mounts I am currently considering. Westcott is not interested in making awning brackets for their roof racks. I have seen the Prinsu awning mounts and they might work (nice looking and built well). The Prinsu brackets are about $180 a piece and I would probably need three, ouch (kind of used to that pain of being a Lexus owner).
I am sure someone out there has a Westcott roof rack and is smarter than I am, at least this is what I am hoping. Would appreciate any helpful guidance and positive reinforcement that there is a solution.
Appreciate your help.
