Low Speed Shifting

Picked up a new 2025 OT two weeks ago and currently have about 600 miles on it. Mostly love everything about it so far except for one thing.

When slowing down to a crawl/slow roll, and trying to speed up, it feels like the transmission stays in too high of a gear and is not ready to re-accelerate. This results in a slight lag or hesitation before eventually downshifting. The problem is not noticeable when coming to a full stop and less pronounced when being more aggressive with the throttle.

Keep in mind I'm coming from a GX460 and 5th gen 4Runners with 5 and 6 speed gearboxes. Perhaps this is normal for the 10 speed, or perhaps its programming to maximize fuel economy, but it just feels awkward.

Anyone else notice something similar or could this be unique to my vehicle specifically?

Funny you wrote this today. The wife and I were just speaking about the same "feeling" in our 2025 Premium +. Picked it up at the end of February and currently about 1400 miles, mostly city and very little highway driving. Plan to ask the dealer at the 5000 check up. My dealer offers 5,000 and 10,000 service for free and life time oil changes after that. I have read that some others had the dealer reset or program the transmission so I'm asking about that as a solution.

I noticed it on my Overtrail over the weekend. It's kind of like a clunky hesitation. Only have 400 miles on it.

Have the dealer do a Transmission Memory reset. It seemed to help my truck but still not perfect. I’ve heard there is a TSB coming for this issue.

At the dealership now. Brought up the reset etc.... They're going to see if someone is willing to do it. They're a little hesitant bc they said Lexus is aware of the problem and a fix is coming. It won't be a recall and you won't be told the fix is available unless you keep bringing it to their attention

Thanks - keep us posted. Mentioned this on a reddit post as well and it seems we are not the only ones.
