Isn't that MT Forest in SE MO? I lived in Fayetteville AR for several years while in grad school, and I didn't recognize that forest name.we live right next to the Mark Twain Forest
Yes, it's actually scattered across the Southern half of MO. We are about 2 miles south of the MO line as the crow flies.Isn't that MT Forest in SE MO? I lived in Fayetteville AR for several years while in grad school, and I didn't recognize that forest name.
Anyway, this forum is so helpful, from maintenance advice, warranty problems, to accessories acquisition, you'll be glad you joined.
Best of luck out there. Beautiful countryside. I had some family that lived up North near Mt. Shasta. No, I moved back to California after graduating in 1985. As my job became internationally focused it didn't matter where we lived, so I got out of the city and moved to the CA Central Coast.
Arkansas is a much under-appreciated State, and I remember Fayetteville fondly . Gorgeous and green, with many wonderful people. Several of my ancestors moved to California from Arkansas back in the Grapes of Wrath days.
NWA doesn't have the expansive Federal Lands as the west does, with pros and cons, but I'm sure you'll find many trails and roads to challenge your new GX! Being close to Mark Twain Forest is a huge benefit.
Sorry SROak, your post must be truncated here on the forum as I see a couple more paragraphs in the email. Yes, the growth is explosive from Bentonville down to Fayetteville, which we now refer to as the "corridor" since it has pretty much all run together. Fortunately we live about an hour to the East in the mountains where it is somewhat quieter, yet we can still go out to eat and go shopping in the 'big city'.No, I moved back to California after graduating in 1985. Yes, it does. It should work out pretty good since we have an E350 on lease that terminates in June.Congrats - now the waiting begins!
I used to live in a little place called Alread in NWA. Loved the Ozarks and the people there. I have the Luxury + and love it. I hope you enjoy your new SUV.Hello all,
Just ordered a 2026 GX 550 from Reliable Lexus in Springfield, MO and wanted to learn more about what to expect with our new vehicle.
Thanks for the forum!

Pretty country down in there. Wonderful people all over the Ozarks. We have the Luxury + ordered and are really looking forward to it.I used to live in a little place called Alread in NWA. Loved the Ozarks and the people there. I have the Luxury + and love it. I hope you enjoy your new SUV.
The growth rate is insane. We call it the 'corridor' since the cities between Bentonville and Fayetteville all run together on either side of I49. Thankfully, we live about 1.5 hours to west up in the hills where things are quiet and we only venture to the 'corridor' to shop, see the doctor, and eat a good meal out.NWA is a wonderful place, but unfortunately everyone else has figured that out. Growth here over the last 10 years is ridiculous. There aren't many small towns anymore. Traffic and crime have definitely gone up. Still a good place to live if you have a good job, but it's wearing on me. I'll retire in 3 years and hope to move 50 miles or so SE into the Boston Mountains and escape the growth.
Thanks tack, it's a great forum!welcome

Where are you thinking about retiring to?
In my previous post, I meant to say that we are 1.5 hours to the EAST not West. (I'm dyslexic). We're North of Eureka Springs close to Holiday Island. It's peaceful here, although the tourist traffic gets annoying at certain times of the year.I'd love to get some acreage on Bull Shoals but my son and grandkids are in Fayetteville, so I don't want to be that far away. Will probably just go somewhere southeast of Fayetteville in the middle of nowhere but still only an hour or so away.
